PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

People said that before CAS, and it never happened then. I think it’s wishful thinking. At best we might be able to demonstrate that other clubs have been doing some of the things we’re accused of. The notion that we have something completely incendiary seems a little fanciful though.

Blu-anon.

The big exposé where all our enemies are revealed to be charlatans and righteous justice is delivered is just around the next corner.

It's a comforting theory when people are worried about the club's future, but it's been going on for 5 years now.

It's the same as the rival fans who think the club will slip people a few brown envelopes to make this go away - as if they'd not pay to stop the der spiegel articles if they could do that, or the UEFA investigation or the UEFA hearing or the PL investigation...but now, when the whole world thinks the club is guilty and it's all very public is the time to pay people off.

I still feel that a heavy fine, mainly for non-cooperation (similar to CAS), is the most likely outcome.

This is what I think.

I find it very hard to believe the FA is sitting on evidence of financial criminality by the club. It will be like at UEFA, no case to answer on the financial side or a warning about some misdeanor but a big fine for not co-operating.

We will get a fine if anything, the piss that will boil alone will be worth it in the end. Hopefully it all gets sorted sonner rather than later

liverpool didn't really "hack" City, it was a stolen login and password an ex employee took with him to liverpool. Shady as fuck, but not hacking.
Fair point , it’s what those passwords have access to is all I was saying , if it got in other hands , but fuck it , having a password can be interpreted as hacking , anyway that’s another straw clutched at !

The people who stole the login and password kept their jobs at Liverpool. Wasn’t one of them promoted? Which respectable business and company would keep staff who have done that? I would have been sacked straightaway.

No.

All this talk of going nuclear or burning the lot down etc is just over emotional fan talk.

City didn't burn UEFA down and they won't be doing anything like that with the PL. They also won't be going after any other club.

They will just defend themselves well at the panel hearing and that will be that.

Sadly, you may be right ? Our media team over the years simply have no backbone for a dirty fight, with the media writing whatever they like about us without any come back,

but I do feel with the Premier League case and every tom dick or harry jumping all over us, the media and all the other clubs already labelled us cheats and calling for the punishment to be relegation, they maybe just be looking over their shoulders this time, because there is no room for being wrong this time ? When city clear their name, look out you are going to get it back big time

If we can demonstrate that other clubs have been “creative accounting” then all the better tbh .

Dom, forgive my ignorance but is this why utd get so many penaltys?

By far Jurgen's greatest contribution to English football

I agree. I said earlier in the day that it'd be a certain fine for not cooperating, which may be added to for inconsequential technical breaches.

The media have caused a lot of the angst amongst our fans with their hysterical reaction to the news two days ago. It was speculative tripe carried by unsourced claims that other clubs want us to be expelled.

Yes, because that would be within their powers!
Do you not think part of our legal teams job will be to frame any drastic action like that as potentially illegal from a business perspective? That's the only way I can see us taking any negative outcome outside the closed shop of the pl and coming inquiry and into a legal/higher court?

Fuck them all!
When they fine us I hope we pay them with a big fuck off oversized etihad airways cheque like it’s comic relief night.
And as for the points deduction let’s hop it’s big one otherwise the dippers might not get that europa conference place!

surely expulsion, stripping of titles etc would be the severest of penalties reserved for only the severest of ‘crimes’ ie match fixing, bribery etc.
I guess submitting fraudulent accounts for the best part of a decade, which is essentially what they’re accusing us of, would fall into that category.

I just don’t see either how we could realistically have done that, or how they would even prove it if we had, given our heavily audited accounts, level of scrutiny etc. It seems an incredibly high bar they’ve set themselves here.
