While I continue to warn everyone to be wary of revenge fantasies, I agree that if City are aggressively financially and/or sporting-wise punished for FFP-only violations (not for “fraud” in a traditional financial sense which I very much doubt can/will happen) this has to be the nuclear escalation option.Our lawyers need to look hard - and of course they will do - at UK competition rules and in particular whether taking action against City and City alone infringes those rules - abuse of a dominant position perhaps, although that would require some creative interpretation. The rules are complex and I'm retired, so I'm not up to date. But a brief scan through them implies that some doors might open to cause difficulties either for the Premier League or the other 19 members.
