Pep seems to love him, personally i think there will always be a mistake in him.
He's got certain quality like pace & good on the ball.
But I agree he has a mistake in him. Especially against the better teams.
He's a good player, a squad player, But not a great defender like Dias & Laporte.
That's why those 2 cost around £55M - 60M & akanji cost about £15M.
They're both better players. Dias has to start for me as do Ake & Walker as Wing backs.
Then 1 of the 3 out of stones, Laporte & Akanji.
We need to have a fairly settled back 4 for the rest of the season.
The tinkering with the back line has cost us pts this season so far I think & is the main reason we have dropped games we should be getting more pts out of.

Looks more dominant alongside dias, it's almost as though he absorbs the traits of his partner. aside from that weird brain dead yellow, a faultless game.

Reminds me of an early stones at times in that he doesn't dominate physically even though he can, want to see more aggression from him

Cost should never be judged for overall player ability though.

Thought he looked quite shaky at times tonight. Luckily Stones and Dias should be leading this backline moving forward.

He scares the shit out of me. I don’t know whether having Walker on one side and Dias on the other would change things, but the right side partnership of him and Rico is a disaster waiting to happen.

Doing alright considering the injuries. Bristol City despite their enthusiasm didn't trouble us.

As above....its a trust thing,i always expect a fuck up isnt far away (much like Eddie)

Bigger picture though,he's a great squad option especially so where injury is concerned.

Just don’t trust him not to make a fuck up. him and ederson leaving it for each other is the stuff of nightmares.
But they didn't leave it for each other.

. Akanji was set to deal with the situation, but mad Eddie decided to run into no man's land again wanting to get involved and you could clearly see Akanji got a shout to leave it.

I hope if that occurs again, he simply ignores Ederson and deals with it
