The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

No mate. I was 14 and didn't drive.
I was just reminiscing about the old days when I walked down the cut to my Nans on the weekend.
Me telling people to park at Pifco (not saying that I parked at Pifco was just a joke.
Actually, if I was to visit then now it would be in Phillips Park Cemy.
Wrong thread then, but a quick update Pifco is now Russell Hobbs, Gerry Shields was converted to flats last year and Barry Foy is still my Neighbour and still goes to every away..!

Complaint lodged.

Looking like next season it's a drive from the coast to the tram car park nr the old Roxy, tram to Central Park, walk to the ground, hope it's not pissing down either way as I'll not be able to get a brolly into SS3 and return.

Fucking shit show by the Council.

My lad and me were discussing parking, we use the blue car park but it seems to take longer to get out of after each match.
We were thinking it wont belong before we stop going, guessing Manchester will go the same as London and start charging cars.
We cant get the train from ramsgate because of the cost and not sure if we could get back the same day even for a 3pm ko. Plus theres no parking at ramsgate station lol.
It's just another thing to get in the way of match going fans. It feels like we died hard fans arent really wanted

Not unless you spend over a 100er on tat from the club shop and another 100er on over priced food n drink unfortunately:( I think these parking restrictions maybe the straw that broke the camels back for me. :(

There is decent parking at Ashton Moss metrolink Station. From there you can hop on a tram to the Etihad. You may have to queue to get the tram back for 20-30 minutes but quite a lot do that. Alternatively park up at Guide Bridge Station and get a train to Asburys which is a 15 minute walk to the stadium. In both cases you will be very close to the M60 and you would avoid traffic queues once you are back in the car.

I have started going less due to the expense. Fuel and ticket 120/130. Park and walk 20/25 mins. Long old day. Getting to the point where i cannot be arsed. Was looking at getting a couple of season tickets next year when i move back north but this parking bollocks could well stop that. Sad.

Dump the car at Ashton park and ride. If the car park is full, there's a retail park across the road. Hop on the tram. It takes 20 minutes to the ground. No running the gauntlet or driving around like a loon trying to dump the car. It's the same on the way back. 20 mins to the car you are on the M60 and away before most people have even got half a mile from the stadium.

People who happily sit in traffic for an hour before and after every game are either really lazy or just enjoy misery.
You do know they are supposed to be closing that line for 2 years!

It is odd that many of the users of this way of getting to the etihad have no idea that it will cease to be available for 2 years (and counting…) to facilitate the HS2 construction at Piccadilly (due to there being only one depot/maintenance yard for trams of the entire network located on the ‘wrong’ side of the works.)

It will seriously dent the Coop arena’s plans to become the premier arena imo, I can see the headlines now… ‘Ed Sheehan fans appalled at travel and parking chaos’, let alone City fans.

I presume/hope there must be a comprehensive bus replacement service planned for the Ashton line… but as it’s not been mentioned as far as I recall…

I've been walking it from Queens road, doesn't take longer as not sat in traffic queue, but not good if you have elderly with you.
