PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

That would have been the biggest story of many year, possibly a journalists career and the journalist would be looking at awards for bringing light on to such a thing.

Afraid i find it very hard to believe any journalist would turn such a story down just because they may not like City.

Is it me or is the current media silence deafening? Nothing on Sky for days, nothing in the papers, no tweets from journalists. It’s like they have been warned by City or they know there is zero chance of us being found guilty.

Seemed to go very quiet the weekend after the initial feeding frenzy. It's either like you say or the PL themselves have asked everyone to shut up as if it carried on we'd hardly get a 'fair trial'.

Heard all this bollocks that it’s gone quite last week, then the following day there were big snide pieces in The Times and in the FT.

It’s gone quiet cause there is nothing new to report and we have had a couple of poor performances. Wait to see how quiet it is if we go on a winning run or somehow go top of the league again.

We haven’t stopped any negative reporting for the last 14 years so we ain’t gonna stop any now.

Like we would get a “fair trial” by the PL appointed independent tribunal that is headed up by an Arsenal member if the papers didn’t print anything. Damage has already been done to City’s brand and any semblance of a “fair trial”. I think (or hope) there’s something more to why things have gone deafeningly quiet.

Sure when we were charged it was reported we had until 23rd Feb to respond? But that’s been and gone and not heard a thing
Well first off that was only yesterday, but mainly they're not going to release anything yet. The panel has to be convened (unless I missed that bit) and then have to consider both sides. They'll then ask for more evidence and statements and then consider further. They'll no doubt do this a number of times before any statement gets made. Don't expect any leaks whatsoever given how that went down with UEFA.

I thought the Arsenal member was convening the tribunal, not actually sitting on it? Perhaps I got that bit wrong.

I think he heads it and picks two others. Happy to stand corrected though.
You're probably right TBH, not that I think it makes an ounce of difference what clubs they support. Although if the other two end up being season ticket holders at United & Liverpool then Ric needs to invest in more servers now.

I think there is something in the sale of Utd suddenly going quiet and no interest in Liverpool too. The confirmation of the regulatory body and that it will not allow EPL teams to participate in a super league this week may have ramifications too. Of course if the PL drop the case against city it may provide the perfect excuse for the teams in red to flounce of and join ESL which is what their owners want.

The media smear campaign in the aftermath of these charges mean there ain’t a snowballs chance in hell of us getting a fair trial. The media had an orchestrated field-day at our expense. Still, that same disgusting media will tell all the salivating knuckle-draggers that everything is fair and above board. Control the media - control the daily narrative to suit the agenda of whoever is paying for it.

When we had the case going to court following the PL's attempt to appoint arbitrators that City thought would be biased against them followed subsequently by an appeal, the two cases lasted around two years and both City and the PL wanted to keep everything secret. It came out because the judge said it shouldn't be kept secret and it was in the general public interest. Neither side wanted it published. Despite all the comment on Bluemoon it is likely this attitude has not changed so you will hear nothing for a long time to come. Certainly you are not going to get a blow by blow commentary.

Not a mention of any developments on any media platforms just wonder if its a coincidence but there are rumours floating about that City have issued a legal threat if reporting without substance continues ! Also pretty strong rumours one of Sky's so called senior reporters has been banned from reporting inside the Etihad perimeters due to a live comment referring to the outcome of the UEFA /CAS verdict, think we can all probably know who she is ! It's strange nor even a sqeak about the original charges less alone the current progress of the hearing has been mention in the press, TV, radio,
online and live game coveridge for a least a week or so !

Hopefully they're going after Nick Harris big style as well, I'd love to see him tweeting how big bad City took his house off him.

You wont hear fuckall from the media now as they would have been warned by the fa that anything they say/report
will be used by us as some kind of evidence of misreporting.
Last thing the fa wants is us to be dragging our heels and questioning anything the media say.
Our lawyers will be watching these cunts and be ready to throw libel cases against anyone who dares.

Isn’t it the PL - rather than FA?
