It’s actually made me really angry how these FFP irregularities at United and Chelsea have been ‘reported’ in the media in comparison with what we’ve had and continue to have over the years.

The same can be said with the paltry punishments too. F**king hypocrisy and double standards and I hope the club, who I’m sure would agree, are making their feelings known behind closed doors too.

I dont buy into the racist angle,i think its a cheap shot.

However,we have upset the powers that be (were),we have stolen their thunder,and much of their revenue,and filled our boots.....that is very much the issue.

I don’t like suggesting it either, but the general consensus amongst fans worldwide is that City and PSG in particular are somehow a threat to football and should be stopped at all costs - despite doing nothing differently to any other club that’s been successful down the years.

The same goes with Newcastle more recently and there’s plenty of faux outrage out there about human rights etc, which is ironic when you consider how desperate Liverpool and United fans have been for their respective takeovers recently.

Where has the same uproar been about Arsenal or Chelsea’s recent level of spending?

This might be a case not consuming news about other clubs anywhere near as much as news about your own club. Chelsea have been heavily criticised, mocked and lambasted for the spending in the last 12 months. I’ve noticed every bit of it because I’m in the Chelsea online bubble where all this stuff gets posted and discussed.

I used to be surprised years ago when I’d see a City fan or an Arsenal fan complain about getting a raw deal from the media but then I realised it’s me and the news I consume that was the issue, not what those fans were complaining about.

For the record, we have not admitted to any wrongdoing because we are adamant that we haven't broken any rules.

In a nutshell and just to be clear here, to date, we have not been found guilty of any wrongdoing whereby both Chelsea and the rags have been outed as fkin cheats..

I haven't seen a Chelsea fan on these boards presume City's guilt.

I have personally stated in very clear terms that I have no idea so won't have an opinion on the subject.

And as for professing that our club is squeaky clean, that's tosh as well. UEFA's statement has been quoted. Their perspective and not Chelsea's or Chelsea fans'.

We've obviously sailed too close to the wind on occasions, and been sanctioned. Two transfer windows where we were excluded, and now this latest 'financial contribution' to UEFA for historical failures.

As @waspish said, FFP is a dogshit system anyway, so what's the point of fans from different clubs decrying it on the one hand but eagerly pointing fingers at others at the same time?

We're all just trying to crack on as best we can.

One big difference between us is that our new owners noticed incomplete financial information in historic accounts and reported it immediately to UEFA.

City's stance is, as I understand it, that they've done nothing wrong whatsoever.

Maybe admittance or denial of guilt has a bearing on how a club is treated, just as it does in the English legal system where admittance of guilt generally encourages a more lenient sentence?

Reading your earlier post, it looks to me like you are insinuating that because we are not accepting any guilt whatsoever regarding the allegations made against us then this is why we are we are treated negatively in the press, ie, we must be guilty, therefore let's fcuk City over big style..

However, your club coming clean and admitting breaking FFP are therefore being looked upon as a honest organization who have made some sort of genuine, accounting mistake.

So thats Chelsea, Rags and the Dippers who have all failed FFP, and UEFA gave out token fines ( bar the Dippers as they failed to qualify for Europe when they failed) compared to the fine, reduced squad numbers we received.
And the media reporting on it or lack of it, compared to ours is laughable.

Incomplete reporting for FFP has been accepted by Chelsea and the fine is a punishment for breaching the regulations, presumably in respect of providing accurate financial information that gives a true and fair view. Sound familiar?

Except City don't accept that the club has done that. In fact, City have never been punished for breaching FFP, other than for non-compliance with an investigation. In 2012 the club settled without admitting guilt (big mistake that was, in hindsight). In 2020 there was no evidence of any UEFA FFP breaches, other than non-disclosure. And the 2023 PL charges are merely allegations being challenged.

But whatever floats Chelsea's boat I suppose.

In summary, Chelsea can legitimately be labeled as FFP cheats whereby, after the years of shit we've all had to put up with, all the sneering and accusations of cheating, to date, we are not guilty of anything..!

Yes, Chelsea definitely cheated as they admitted it themselves. I note the period was from 2012 to 2019, so that's hardly a minor oversight - more like systematic and deliberate false reporting over a lengthy period of time. The settlement amount seems low.

I cant think of any business were your rivals put in place runs to stop you apart from football. But than I'm not in top business, all I know if I start lawn cutting business there is nothing stopping me to invest in it and put over lawn cutting business under pressure.
