Seems to be some negativity about tonights game regarding the weather, the crowd or the atmosphere.
The weather forecast for tonight is dry.
As I write this it's not far from being a sell out and I reckon by kick-off time it will be.
The atmosphere could be better than some people are thinking, with this being the first defence of our Champions league win after the magic night in Istanbul ( apart from the bus fiasco)
I for one am looking forward to it.

If today's weather was enough to put 15000 people off from attending then the stadium would be as empty every week as our critics say it is. It's mild early autumnal showers!!!!

Anyway, tonight there will be kids who have never seen City play whose minds are blown by how green the turf looks like under the floodlights, international students who only arrived in Manchester who are blown away by the atmosphere and quality of our football and are hooked for the rest of their lives, and fans who have been saving up all summer to see the European champions play their first game defending the crown. Sometimes you have to see these routine fixture through their eyes. Welcome, all!

Think tonight's attendance and atmosphere could be the worse for a while. The weather is awful. People working in the morning and kids in school. Think it could be less than 35k tonight
So negative , maybe you should pack it in,oh wait, you tried to last season before the world cup break when you
offered your season ticket up for sale.

I'm on a few days holiday and can't wait.

It made me laugh when Cheeseman and Parker were complaining about the atmosphere despite never making a peep at the game.

Ignore me Dave, I was making a sorry attempt at a joke! Their fans will be up for it tonight, so hopefully that'll drive some of our lot to get stuck in!
I suspect tonight will be a worst case scenario. Noisy opposition fans doing their stupid choreographed stuff and a silent City crowd who've given up trying to get anything going. These are the matches where a new home end would make a difference.

It's the Hoi polloi that should make a noise, to entertain the fans who do there to watch a spectacle :)

Sometimes when you hear commentators of an event there's a distinct impression of Them and Us.

That could be the case for all three home group fixtures this season. I can’t wait for next season when there’s going to be another one as well.

Who would have thought we would reach this stage:

The Champions League group home matches are flat, often boring and (almost) meaningless now.

If a bit of rain puts you off of watching Haaland and and the Treble winners begin the defence of our European crown… then maybe football isn’t the right sport for you lol.

Despite the worrying, I’m sure the atmosphere and attendance tonight will be great.

Hopefully we carry on with what we did in the KO stages last season and don’t allow the away fans to bring a drum in.

Those atmosphere on those nights without the incessant shite sounding twatting of the pig skin were much better.

Ideal weather for a game really. Rained all day so the pitch should be slick, but nice weather out here now (it’s quite a pleasant evening).
