Well I would be pretty damned dim to think I could fool people into thinking the UK population was 10m higher than it actually is, by simply posting 77m not 67m, wouldn't I. And I am not particularly dim. FFS everyone knows what the UK population is. Dear God use your noggin for once.
You continue to support the most vile, corrupt, inept government in living memory, if not our history, despite overwhelming evidence of the corruption, so easy to understand those who think that you are dim.

Wrong on many counts. FFS I am here on the "let's slag Suella Braverman" thread, slagging her off (and our PM) myself!

And regards your comments, of course the government is not the best we've had (understatement) but your level of vitriol simply demonstrates how utterly brainwashed you have become by surrounding yourself only with people echoing and amplifying your views into this frenzy of hyperbole. Anyone would think we're living in North Korea, listening to some of you lot.

I'll tell you what dim is. Dim is thinking that any government can deal with 400 billion of unbudgeted spend on COVID support, worldwide sky high (by recent measures) interest rates and energy costs, and keep everything in the garden just roses without issues. That's what dim is.

There are some political commentators saying that this whole situation is just another battle in the ongoing Tory civil war, I think civil war is a bit simplistic, Braverman is going for the UKIP vote, and since UKIP took over the party it’s not a bad shout, Sunak is Cummings man, basically he’s just a stuffed shirt doing as he’s told, and then there is the BJ faction who are stirring up trouble on the sidelines

They are imploding and it’s a sight to behold

I replied to you and I’m not a “leftie”. I’ve voted for all the parties. I simply comment sometimes on the most incompetent government in my lifetime, not by a bit, but by a million miles, which is what I did to you attempting to whitewash their disgrace.

The use of the infantile “lefty” and “woke” to anyone who happens to disagrees with the hard right politics of hate and division, in leu of a counter argument, has become one of the most popular tools of these political incompetents, by the way. You are not in good company.

A lot of rational people are angry at what these people have done over the last few years and so should you be. These are not normal times any more. This government have defiled UK politics and damaged us all, economically and culturally, and I have zero sympathy or empathy for anyone who enables or excuses this, however subtly. That doesn’t make me a fucking “leftie”.
One swallow does not a summer make. The plain fact remains the debate on these forums is VERY heavily left-leaning and biased in its perspectives. If the audience on this forum was representative of the general public (a) Labour would be in power now and (b) Labour would win a landslide victory at the next election. (a) is obviously not true and actually I doubt (b) is either. They will likely be the largest party, and possibly have a small majority but I suspect that's the limit of it, we shall see.

And never have I suggested that the government is perfect and that all criticisms are simply because people are left leaning. It is disingenuous to suggest I have even implied so. Merely that the left-centred lens of a right wing Tory government is perhaps a distinctly different perspective than a neutral or right-oriented one.

I think this forum is quite representative of the general public, you won’t see it because your world is different but there you go

67, 70, 77

The point was you posted this nonsense to justify Johnson's behaviour: "in fact 70m people flouted the lockdown rules anyway, the steaming hypocrites". Just admit that 90% of people didn't flout the rules and you can do something useful for the rest of the day.

So 400bn eh? How have they added another trillion to the national debt?

I must admit to chuckling at the term "Gammon" though
Yes very puerile of me I know ;)

Your exact words:
“There's 77m people in this country I think and I only suggested 70m of them are hypocrites.”
As you state with quite a degree of certainty....”everyone knows what the UK population is”. Clearly.

You HONESTLY think I was trying to con people that the UK has a population of 77m? Seriously? If yes, then I really do not know what to say other than "good grief".

DId I say flout? Not sure I did. No, I am not admitting that 90% of the UK population did not break any lockdown rules, because I don't think that is true. Who knows, but it's not the impression I have.

Good grief. You could have searched "flouted" by Chippy_boy in the time you wrote that.

You're confusing the Tory party with the electorate. He had broad appeal that would have persisted if we had not been nobbled by COVID. It was a golden opportunity to seize the red wall seats from Labour, deliver on what was promised and keep them blue for the foreseeable. Sadly, we completely ran out of money and too many people made mischief out of stupid nonsense like who had a glass of wine when they shouldn't have, when in fact 70m people flouted the lockdown rules anyway, the steaming hypocrites.

You're just wumming now.

Are you suggesting a username change from CB to Diane Abbott‘s Abacus?
If the best someone can manage is hounding on someone for typing 77 instead of 67, it really doesn't say a lot for the strength of their argument.. Not that I expect better from some of the individuals on this forum to be honest.

No,,I don’t think you were trying to con anyone. I just think you didn’t know the population of the UK, hence your (nonsensical) claim that 70million flouted the rules.

Well I have posted several times in the past about it being 67m so we can knock that one on the head as well. Great, issue closed.

Now I must get some work done. Goodbye.
