Remain were only ever offering more of the same and had no cogent policy on immigration. And immigration was the number one reason people voted to leave.
Had Cameron been able to get some / any concessions from the EU on immigration, Remain would have waltzed home.

He went to the EU and came back with nowt, even so I still believe that without the sneering it would have been a vote to remain.

Is that the immigration we needed then, and still do? Or the freedom of movement, a freedom we have now also lost. Or do you mean the refugees and asylum seekers, for which the EU provided an agreement, an agreement we have now opted out of ?

What potential concessions? We don't need their permission now and if anything it is worse that when the vote was taken. Anyone who wasn't blinkered by their own pet obsession could see that the main benefits spouted by the leavers were never going to be delivered.

I stated that the remain camp stooped as low as the leave camp, every day calling people stupid and thick.

If they would have played it clean they'd have won.
To be honest and I don't want people to take offence but anyone who voted for Brexit was stupid, we voted to put economic sanctions upon ourselves despite all the warnings about the consequences, and all the consequences have happened or are in the process of happening

Right Wing populism offers simple answers to complex problems and it never works, it's also very divisive they always need an enemy, if they can't find one they invent one like the term "Woke" although the Jewish community will be pleased that they have moved on from them and are now focused on Muslims

If you look at some of the vitriol on the tory threads in this section you can't honestly say that the right wing need an enemy, the left fling their shit high wide and handsome too. Some of the misogyny is quite Frankly frightening.

If anyone has been on the back of the Jews it has been the left wing (Not all) not the right wing in general, there are some posters on this site who have had trouble containing themselves but slip about their beliefs every now and then.

My point about Brexit is that if the remain camp stopped calling people names remain would have won, not very bright ehh?

The irony is that under EU law we had levers to control immigration that we (the Government) could not be arsed to use.

For example, as an EU citizen if you move to Germany you have to be self-supporting within three months or you will be 'asked' to leave.

We could not be bothered enforcing that rule as it was too much trouble.

If someone keeps hitting themselves on the head with a hammer I will reserve the right to keep calling them stupid

It does appear he is trying to ditch lots of the far right and trying to pivot to the centre after he's seen his poll ratings remain static despite him trying out some good old populism, how the UKIP wing will respond is anyone guess
Wonder if he left it until uncle Nigel was in the jungle to do this?

The timing is superb either way.

I am pretty confident that the majority would rejoin at the drop of a hat seeing the chaos and damage it has done, we may even get the Euro!

I agree with you, but it needn't have happened if remain would have stayed on track and not go off piste with the Brexit mob.

I blame the remainers who sneered for this clusterfuck.

Think he may be but how he does that without looking stupid going back on the last 12 months policies and rhetoric is beyond me.

Every single political decision will forever end up off track because of different factions believing they are on the correct side.
Using divisive language isn’t new.
Only history will be able to look back and confirm the wrong’uns.
