Bloody hell. What a game. I actually felt we should have won that.

But a point against the best team in the world is a good point.
Not a bad advert for the Premier League between 2 plastic clubs with no history who didn’t exist 20 years ago ;)

Seriously, Sky will be dining out on that match for years to come! Your game against Spurs was fun to watch for many reasons but this was a true classic. End-to-end from start to finish and great to see a team go toe-to-toe with us. Some of the lesser teams have done it to be fair and to their credit have occasionally gotten a result but because they don’t possess the same quality of players that Chelsea have they’ve often found themselves on the end of a hiding. I look at all the money United have spent and they still play like an underdog team even when it’s not against us but you had a real go yesterday. I was disappointed that we couldn’t hang on in the end but even after going 4-3 up it always felt that there was another goal in the game.

I think a title challenge is out of reach for you this season as you’re probably just too far adrift already but next season may well be a different matter, and you could have a huge say in where it ends up this season given your results against the top sides so far.

Clearly a side on the up, but i cant see them finishing higher than 7th or 8th this season.

They wont have many games as open as that yesterday and against other sides that defend and play on the counter i think they'll still struggle.

I thought you played well. Particularly your press. Palmer and Sterling were v good. I thought Raheem was motm.
Bit open at the back but bloody hell not as bad as us. Dias looked like he had been at his Christmas night out on Saturday evening. Hope you play like that and take points from others particularly the red shirt cartel.

I also thought we played around your press effectively. It was great because players like Gallagher who were notoriously awkward on the ball have become really press resistant and we often had zero trouble playing through your press. If only we had more cutting edge up front, which sounds crazy to say in a game we scored 4 goals but we had you in 4v4 or 3v3 situations quite often and failed to capitalise.

City looked uncharacteristically wobbly at the back. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dias that bad. 3 of our goals came from direct City errors, which seemed very unlike you.

Feel like a few people are jumping the gun regarding them starting to gel etc. They were obviously always going to improve given the talent they have and woeful start to the season they've had. But the damage is already done for them this season. They took a massive gamble on making top 4 and that's highly unlikely at.this point. Is that going to leave them needing to sell next summer and start the season in transition again? They're still without a win at home all season and yesterday was pure chaos from both teams so I'm not sure we learned a whole lot about either team. Last game before that they struggled to beat 9 men. They're still all over the place for me.

Agreed, they were horrible at the back and spared a hammering by 3 ridiculous individual errors from our defenders and goalkeeper.

I thought we were OK at the back. We conceded a meh penalty and a deflection. I don't feel City created too much outside of the other two goals (Haaland's 2nd and Akanji's free header) except that one Haaland chance that Sanchez saved. It's City, you're bound to create good chances, no-one can really stop you doing that but I thought we contained you well enough for the majority of the game. We weren't spared a hammering at all.

Correct, we were never in control and Chelsea were very good indeed, very brave on the ball and dangerous.
The city back looked shaky because they were exposed, simple as that, you put defenders under pressure with direct running and pace and they make mistakes.
Great game

Uncharacteristic individual errors cost us against a decent young team on the rise. Disappointed we didn't get all three points especially with City leading so late, but the result was fair on the balance of play. Can't help thinking though, that we need some younger blood to supplement midfield particularly. I'm sure Txiki and Pep have a plan.

Can anyone tell me if Cole Palmer shown any respect to the travelling blues?

This will form my opinion on him forever

No he scuffed the penalty spot before our penalty, jumped into the crowd after scoring his penalty, ran up to Pep kissing the badge and slapped him on his head, then him and Sterling went over to the City fans at the end of the game singing one step beyond and dancing.

Okay....I lied. Only the scuffing the penalty spot bit is true. He also made this stupid face after scoring his penalty.

He also listened in when Walker et al were discussing the free kick at the end.
