Atmosphere - 2023/24

Thought the game and atmosphere were a bit flat, to be honest, but that's what GMP wanted. Was equally as true of Liverpool as it was us.

I personally don't feel like I've got a rhythm to this season yet, these international breaks have been an absolute killer.

That run-in last season were some of the best and most enjoyable moments I've ever had in football. The bus welcomes, the tifos, the inflatable bananas. You could see some of the best football teams in the world absolutely wilt and you could see the role we played in that. I hope we can build now to something approaching that in the spring.
Agreed, performances have been very patchy up to yet, not all but quite a few. I also think these International breaks need to be looked at, there's absolutely no need for the three before Christmas. Cut the number of countries involved, job done, but the twats want even more countries involved ffs

This is a good point. There was a lass in the row in front of me over from Qatar, never been to the ground before and is only over on holiday so won't be going again this season. The regular ST holders to the right of me weren't there either and replaced by people from that part of the world also. I'm baffled how they've got seats for this fixture. They obviously haven't met the 5 game criteria. If they've bought it from the club it must have been re-badged hospitality. The hypocrisy of the 5 game criteria imposed on regular blues yet not on those with a fatter wallets is laughable (although really not that funny).

I'm not anti-tourist but I think these seats should be going to regular blues. These individuals obviously aren't going to contribute anything towards the atmosphere. Instances like mine must have been occurring elsewhere in the stadium too. As pointed out by somebody else there seemed to be a lot of half and half scarves knocking about yesterday. Sanitised shite.
that lad sell magazines out side tram stop was getting lectured by steward and police yet very close by was half n half shouting out his goods and nothing done strange to say least

Police don't touch the scammers at the back of asda either charging a tenner then they all get tickets after they fuck off

I don't think we need to be baffled: it sounds quite straightforward. The SC holders have likely sold their ticket on a grey market resale site and recouped a massive chunk of their SC price in doing so.

The tickets can go to regular blues, but if they're willing to sell them on for 5x the face value and some of the richest people on the planet are willing to fly into see the game and pay that sort of money then then this is always going to happen.
we walked past portacabin ticket office and my lad heard tout selling ticket for 200 who ever was buying said no

Just cancel international football on the grounds that it’s shite .

And what do you think those managers would say if they were asked about the fans? They would say the fans are great, they love them. It would all be positive. If Pep came out with some of that every time he was asked then they might stop asking. The very reason they ask him is because they know what answer they are going to get and it suits their narrative and agenda down to the ground.
To be fair Ferguson slagged off the Rags home support at The Swamp. I remember hearing the City fans once singing 'Fergie's right, your fans are shite' at a derby
Love Pep and the brilliant football he has brought to the club, if goes without saying.
However, like others have said , such comments do play right into the hands of the media who can't wait to criticise anything at all to do with the club.

Yeah imagine wanting some noise at a football match
Yeah, we get that but if he took his head out of his arse it wouldn’t be hard to see the reason the atmosphere is dropping off. It’s to do with the club and his mates. Obviously plenty of other big grounds are the same but we’re the only ones consistently getting called out for it, possibly due to our manager.

The "match day experience" has been going down the pan for years .........worse every year.

Most just sat down eating hot dogs or on phones now. Gone all American

It's his fucking mates who have driven the noise out, he should direct his digs there

In fairness mate the atmosphere has been discussed for years its one of the reasons I stopped going although the cost and working most Saturdays were the main ones.

There were enough local supporters jn there to make a noise as it was heard briefly. For whatever reason they just couldn't be arsed. If we were playing Bournemouth I wouldn't have been so surprised but Liverpool? It's a very important game against a shit bag club who we hate.

I was surprised by how bad it was. It was like every fucker had been on their works Xmas do. Probably why the game was so poor. Everyone, including the players, seemed to wish they were having a lie in.

I thought it was alright from block 110 yesterday, it was a bit tense at times but was a cagey game and early kick off so to be expected.

Liverpool fans were awful which didn’t help, only heard from them after they scored really.

Your probably right , Pearce didn't ask for the chants to be piped through the tannoy at that Bolton game because the Atmosphere was electric did he.

Exactly. He should shut the fuck up. He’s a negative stuck record about our home support. If he’s so constantly upset about our home support, maybe he should go back to Bayern Munich and bask in the (German) Ultra atmosphere, he’s missing so much.
Jesus wept.

So us fans can discuss the lack of noise at a game but he can't. I'm not sure how much our manager knows about the ticket office.

Anyhow as mentioned there were enough 'normal ' fans in there to make more of a noise. Simple as that.
