Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Bruno stomps on Rodri's feet, yellow all day (and second yellow). 60 seconds later Rodri goes in on Bruno and he makes an absolute meal of it, diving into the challenge and diving on the floor - Rodri booked.

Rodri breaking forwards and bought down 25 yards from goal, no booking. Bernardo fouls their player 2 mins later in the same situation and immediate booking. Ref was a joke today. Think the only decision we got was dias not giving a foul away just before our first but that was marginal

the ref helping us on what planet did the ref help us , oh yeah on planet fuckwit where goldbridge lives
He thought half of our team should've gotten booked for dissent and Rodri sent off for it which is ironic considering his captain Fernandes should have about 5 yellows every game just for dissent, of course he didn't mention anything about the decisions going Newcastle's way, even some rags there don't believe his nonsense.

Twice Newcastle players kicked the ball away. Not one was carded. Is that rule gone now, or just not applicable to Newcastle today?

Guimares lucky to stay on the pitch, I think I've said that before already this season.

I'd like to see the challenge on doku again before they scored, looked like he was hauled down.

Rodri booked for minimal contact but deemed to be stopping a promising Newcastle move. Foul on Rodri just as he is about to shoot, not carded. It's very hard to not say the bar is different, based on today's evidence.

The injury, again, still an insane rule at least the linesman learnt his lesson. Hopefully it Eddie is ok and we're lucky we have Ortega.

Tough luck PiGMOL, city still won.

well telling the truth wont get him listeners/views he has to stick with tried and tested method of talking absolute shite

It’s the small things that refs do that aren’t too obvious so they don’t stand out, as City fans we see it week in week out This is the ref who thought it was a foul on Allison and robbed us of a win Last night a much worse foul on Trafford no foul Tonight his inconsistency stood out a mile, as others have posted above, a foul by a City player is a booking the same by a Newcastle player no booking

That’s the least amount of minutes for added on time I’ve seen all season I wonder why

Not booking Dan Burn today was an absolute joke, as was the three additional minutes. Shocking performance all round from Kavanagh. It certainly seems like we’re being reffed differently from other teams.
Had a £5 on Rodri committing 2+ fouls and booked with Burn committing 2+ fouls and booked. Obviously Burn didn't get booked so cheers ref

The booking was a joke, but there weren’t many stoppages in the second half, were there? Can’t remember the physios coming on.

3 subs, a booking and a goal. 30 seconds for each.

Felt like they were time wasting a fair bit towards the end. Can’t recall many games recently where only three minutes were added at the end, unless one team are comfortably ahead.

Yeah, maybe so, but it was never going to be loads. We get less because we don’t collapse for team talks every few minutes.

Ultimately worked in our favour anyway.

Thought it was rather strange that he was chosen as the referee for today’s fixture. Quite sure he was in charge of the League Cup tie up there this season, the second half of which he allowed to descend into an incredibly physical game and a bit of a kicking match. Got the sense that he was prepared to let things go over the top again at the close of the second half.
