The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

Well fucking done Manchester City Council, you’ve made it hard for everyone to get to City matches you cunts, but the ones most suffering are the elderly, the disabled and small kids. Despicable
The did exactly the same at Maine Road, put an attendance restriction on the stadium due to "transport restrictions".
I'll be puffing and blowing getting there and back. Cnuts.

Just had a look......it's shocking. Double yellows everywhere now and most signs have been revealed.

Riverpark Road. Grimshaw Lane all bays and double yellows.

These new restrictions are going to remove all unrestricted on street parking for literally thousands of match going blues, the closest on street parking will be getting on for 2 miles from the Etihad on the other side of Edge Lane in Tameside.

and away fans.................many won't have a clue and will be in for a shock that Wednesday night.

They've been busy marking new parking bays and yet more double yellow lines (over the past week or so), up Ashton New Road from the junction with Bank Street all the way up to the Edge Lane.
cunts.........there's no reason for a lot of it.......can only be reds in the council or just fucking loons from outside Manchester.

Last year in the FAC v Burnley there was also a train strike and the busiest I have seen it for parking.

Everyone knows there is (was) street parking who has been to the Stadium for other reasons, so yea carnage on Wednesday expected.

I have noticed one selling parking on Your Parking space which is actually free to park anyway. Got new spots but 1/2 mile further walking based on Hudds, but may not be there on Wed.

They could mitigate this by providing extra capacity on their trams/bus network on matchdays.

However that makes sense and councils never use that.
Sorry all in advance, but apart from disabled individuals, wouldn’t it be in everyone’s interests to walk to the ground and back to Manchester for heath reasons? I know the neighbourhood isn’t the best and it’s often tipping it down, but a mile walk there and a mile walk back isn’t going to kill you.

What percentage of our crowd come from the city centre?

I get your point. I walk from Piccadilly when I'm up for a match. About 25 minute walk. Being a fatty I'm ready for an ambulance by the time I arrive either end. No way I'm running for my next train after.

Not if there is no transport to where you are going when you get there. Depends how many kids and older people you are taking too, even if there was a train, it ends up 10 x more expensive.

The majority of people don't live in town?? Why would they walk there? If you are going to town pre/post match, then that's fine. There's plenty of anecdotal evidence on this thread of why there is absolutely no need for these restrictions coming into play. It's a massive inconvenience to thousands of people, especially night games.

There might become a black market in exemption passes that locals could get. Might be cheaper than the official car parks too.
