Russian invasion of Ukraine

But the 'western' president of Ukraine is now stronger and more well supported in Ukraine than before the war and other countries in close proximity are joining nato so it's done the exact opposite

Those were countries already facing west.

Has there been a revolt in another part of Russia or Russian sphere of influence?

You are confusing me for someone who thinks it's about Russia's strategic interests and not just the oligarchs interests and chiefly Putin's interests.

Fighters from the 13th Directorate of the Military Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of

Ukraine continue to destroy military logistics and combat positions of the

Russian military.Recently, they destroyed a tank, 13 vehicles, 2 Murom-M complexes, 7 enemy fortifications and an observation post of the FSB of the Russian Federation

So you think Russia are going to roll west and take Ukraine?? Clearly they are not capable of doing this even against limited Ukrainian defense.
If the US turn the tap off, I believe Russia will still have their arses kicked if the remainder of NATO countries ramped up their contributions to Ukraine

I love how in geo politics some people on this thread don't understand nuance and just call a **** a ****.

Johnson wanted a war to distract from his shagging/corruption in the UK. Whilst feeding his Churchill cosplay fantasy. Two sources, albeit dubious in some respects confirm this. But they are cunts and cannot be trusted and our world leaders can?

'kin hell.

The thing that comes to my mind when reading over the last few pages is the phrase, "Go hard or go home".

Putin obviously failed with his 3 day SMO and has apparently recallibrated to going for control over his 4 new Russians oblasts to save face. Sadly I can see things going the same way as with Crimea and Donetsk/Luhansk, in that positions will be solidfied and defence lines reinforced. Then in 4-5 years time they will come back with another land grab.
As GDM rightly repeats, you simply cannot trust anything they say.

....And so it comes, I think, down to US/EU/UK to think whether they will just draw a line under the support given so far and it effectively have been "wasted" (As it has still resulted in almost 20% of UKR being occupied) or go they "go hard".

I really do think that those countries supporting Ukraine have to fully step up and realise that the only way that this will stop Putin's/Russias own Imperialist/expansionist ideas is to defeat them completely and kick them out of Ukraine. No more messing about with bits and pieces. Give them all those weapons that were going to be decommisioned, give them all the radar batteries required to close the skies, give them all that seized Russian money and also make sanctions bite harder. I also do think a total travel ban on all Russian citizens would have a huge impact.

Go hard or go home, stop messing the Ukrainians about.

Compared with geopolitics, people prefer the narrative of light fighting against darkness and democracy fighting against autocracy.

I would agree with the academic thought, but when you translate that to lives lost to defend the 800 mile border, I think Finland would like to enjoy the deterrent that is inherent in NATO membership.

As you rightly stated, the Finnish people stood up to be counted when it mattered and surprised many with their resolve.
Ask any ruSSian what is a Finka!
