Atmosphere - 2023/24

I’m not going to point the finger as it will only end up in a spat, but I thought certain tiers could have been much more vocal. The usual tiers carried the atmosphere tonight during parts of the match and especially after the equaliser.

Ssl3 is clearly the place to be for atmosphere. It’s consistently been the loudest part of the ground for a while now.

It is impossible to gauge the noise from SSL1 but has the safe standing had any positive effect? The corner, next to the away fans, when I looked over, does not seem as vocal as it was previously. SSL3 is great but its full of 40/50 year olds and older, it should not really be the loudest part of the ground.

I thought it was a good, tense, urgent big match atmosphere. The start was a bit of a mess with too much going on at once but once it settled the crowd were behind the team all game and the roof would have come off if we’d got what we deserved from the match. Songs were spreading all round all game, some songs were starting in the north stand and even one in the Colin Bell top tier. Best of the season for me.

Yep, I was in CB top tier for a change tonight and there were songs sparking up at fairly regular intervals. Maybe it’s because there was quite a lot of movement tonight with folk sat in different places.

I was chucked out of the ground by stewards for pointing out there were Madrid fans celebrating the goal, goading city fans. No madrid fans ejected but I was, less than 20 mins into the game. I’m nearly 50, had a season ticket for years, never caused one bit of bother, was with my 16 year old. Embarrassing all round, jobsworth steward didn’t like being told to do her job properly & said I was abusive. Lots of irate blues around me but she chose to come in my face & threaten me to keep quiet or I’d be removed, then got her minions to escort me out. I’m guessing emailing the club will get me nowhere.

Nice one. Sounded superb all night. Knife edge type atmosphere.

I got the same against Wycombe last season….. kicked out because I sang a few swear words in family stand….. no wonder no atmosphere!!!!!

2 real madrid fans ejected in front of me by the stewards in 207, after they stupidly celebrated their goal.

Overall, I was not very happy - lots of tourists with HH scarves who were really there for the show, not supporting either team (certainly not City).

Question then is - they were not at the game against Young Boys, not FC Copenhagen, not Red Star... short of buying hospitality, how did they manage to buy tickets???

Apart from that - gutted for the result, but no time to waste, we have Chelsea to tear apart on Saturday!!! Cmon City!!!

It was absolutely fucking horrendous tonight. Anyone who says otherwise has is either deluded or have never experienced a proper atmosphere.

just got in ,pissed and pissed off.
thiught it was pretty damn good up in ss3
for most of the game.much fkin better than most premier league games for sure.
night night
I actually thought it was worse atmosphere for a big game we have had for ages. I'm in 315 and was surrounded by tourists and a few empty seats

111 was superb tonight . Singing for the duration. The only downside is the usual tourist fans who filmed the whole game. Must have been half a dozen near me Testing our patience

I was in the east stand level 3 and it was a disgrace. More Spanish and other natives than City fans plus 2 English chaps chatting work throughout the game who pissed off after 90 minutes not to return.

If you’ve ever been to Barcelona and the Camp Nou, you’ll know the Camp Nou is full of tourists, half and half scarfs, football fans, and away fans scattered across the home ends, bar the Ultra section. That’s what the Etihad is like now.
