Stones hasn't been good recently. He played last leg where we conceded 3 in a ping pong game.
Stones offered no control. Infact he had the least amount of touches of our defence and mid.
Stones has made 4 tackles in the league and Champions league combined this year. Akanji made 4 tonight.... on top of creating 3 chances(Stones 1 this season)... he did better than this seasons John would have.
 
One player fit for Chelsea at the weekend at least. Going to be fucking cooked for that one. Really hope Pep rotates big time for it, want to make the final but league has to be the priority. We looked done in tonight.

He has been injured and by Peps admission came back too soon for 1st Leg Madrid. So not really a comparison.
 
His fitness issues are really starting to become a problem now. When he was one of a group of CBs we could afford to miss him periodically but now any time he's missing we can't play that CB/CM hybrid role in the same way. Either Pep needs to trust Lewis more or we're gonna face more nights like last night. Honestly stunned at the amount of people saying Akanji was MOTM.

He seemed off since returning from the last injury.

I blame Southgate.

There'll be quite a few changes, I'd imagine. Oscar, Rico, Nathan, Stefan, Mateus, Julian, Jeremy, Mateo; they must all be contenders to start, having not started last night.


Repeat; contenders. I'm not saying they'll definitely start. It's impossible to second guess the bald fra Pep.

We could see something absolutely bonkers, or Pep could go stronger than we anticipate. Hard to know. Rest up and see who is ready on Saturday.

Ortega, Gomez, Ake, Stones, Walker, Rico, Nunes, Kovacic, Doku, Alvarez, Haaland could be some bizarre 3 at the back experiment for all we know at this stage!

Tongue in cheek mate. Pep will go as strong as possible, will see which players are in the right shape and do everything to win the game. As much as some will need a rest, going to Brighton having been knocked out of both cups in a few days would be harder than a squad making the FA Cup final and having that positivity.
 
I think he dallies on the ball and plays passes 1 second too late. He points a lot when passing as well. Hes a great central defender. We should play a proper midfielder alongside Rodri

Thats what happen when you waste +70million on 2 midfielders Pep doesnt really trust.
