Looks like the tories are just going to repeat themselves no matter what the question , gonna be a long six weeks , will watch the leaders debate but no news
If it involves 12-16 hours, 7 days a week, how is it that so many of them have 2nd jobs, multiple directorships, etc. There's certainly some shit ones in it for the grift but it's not an easy job if you do it properly.
Listening to Rory Stewart describe how much work is involved if you actually give a shit was quite eye opening. 12-16 hour days, 7 days a week and much of that having shit hurled at you by angry constituents about things you're not actually responsible for, and more shit hurled at you in Westminster by the whip's office threatening you unless you vote for stuff you know nothing about and/or disagree with.
With that context, 91 grand isn't actually that much money...!

There aren't enough hours in the week. Even MPs have to sleep.

The vast majority of MPs with second jobs are Tories. They will also likely do little constituency work, and are likely not to even spend much time in parliament.
Any MP that takes the job half way seriously, with regular advice surgeries, advocating for constituents, attending local events, attending debates rather than just turning up for votes, and a lot more, will be working horrendous hours. It's a job that can easily take over your life.
The problem is that it's easy to not do any of that and you still get paid the same, and with FPTP you'll probably get voted in easily.
Sunak is so selfish he wrong footed his own Party by calling a snap election - and he has turned it into a shitshow
when did the iNews report that? Bear in mind this post is pretty up to date - I think Labour are just better organised and motivated than the ToriesInews said Labour had 98 candidates left to select yesterday. Has there been a flurry of selections?

I thought John Sweeney was standing for the Lib dems somewhere in the midlands?News just in, Rishi finally finds a candidate to stand in Bury St Edmunds. They had to rush through the background check process but they’ve got their man.

They absolutely fucking did. They got absolutely fucked up the arse on PR. They should have dug their heels in and the last eight years, and the terrible journey we’ve been on as a nation, might not have happened.Cameron won't be in charge of it this time. Besides, even though they could have done a lot more, the Lib Dems did water-down some of the most brutal policies of the Tories at that time.
You can see that in the contrast with when they lost their smidge of power. I'd like to hope they've learnt something from those negotiations that took place too, they really did get walked all over.
