Ticket Pricing for Inter (H)

City, United, Liverpool, Everton as well as other clubs all probably play within the same sized areas as some US states where there is only one team. There isn't the population here to charge 300USD and sell out what can be 1-2 games per week, nor is there the wealth which sees some US based events populated by the more wealthy side of society. I saw some of the prices for Inter Miami when they signed Messi and the stadium would be like 10% full (if that) if they tried that over here.
Just had a quick look at Inter Miami and tickets for tomorrow against Philadelphia start at $60 (standing)

They have got this completely wrong. Should imagine there will still be close to 50k there but they have failed to look at previous years and that first group game.

It was literally announced less than 2 weeks ago. You aren't getting many tourists ready to travel here at the drop of a hat with that little notice.

The first group is always the one that struggles to sell

On the positive side these Inter sales will make the club think twice and hopefully offer much cheaper prices for the rest of the league stage / last 16. This has been a punch on the nose for them.
After the 1894 banner at the end of last season:

They didn’t take heed about what we’re feeling as a set of fans and just banged out these Inter prices (without informing City Matters or anyone beforehand and haven’t informed anyone what the rest of the League Phase prices will be) and there are shit loads of tickets left.

You never know with City.

With every passing year, ‘legacy fans’ (a truly abhorrent term!) mean increasingly less to the club. But there’s a reality in English football, that I’ve just spoken about in the United thread, that ‘nothing lasts forever’, and there is going to be a day in the future that our boardroom are going to sit back in their seats, shaking their heads with the realisation when one of them in the room says, ‘we should have looked after our legacy fans better’, as they struggle to sell tickets for every game.

Something isn't right at the top, because everything feels very shortsighted.

I worry that the people in charge are maximising profits whilst we're successful so it looks good on their resume's, and don't give a shit what happens when we have a few bad seasons, because most of them will be gone by then anyway.

I don’t doubt they have sales targets based on increasing ticket revenue so they pull moves like this to an attempt to meet them.

Short termism in football, who'd have thought it !!

That's the ethos of modern business (and goverments too for that matter)

This is what happens when you give people, who are businessmen, vague targets. Like their long term aim of "Increasing matchday revenue"

In their heads filling up 80% of the stadium at £50 is a bigger success than filling 100% of the stadium at £30. Because they only care about revenue, and don't give a shit about anything else.

Yep. For the sales people it will all be based on numbers and nothing else. Year on year they'll have increased targets so it becomes a never ending program of increases.

Then they will have a meeting where they're like 'how many new memberships did you sell for this match?', 'how much revenue did you bring in compared to the same level of opponent in last year's group stage?' etc.

5500 left, i hope PEP aims his guns at whoever is setting the prices, ironically the facebook page is full of people wanting tickets, our ticketing policy remains a shambles, every year without fail

With the money that every club gets from TV & sponsorship etc. I just don't understand why they feel the need to try & fleece every last penny out of their own fans. The average person has been struggling for a number of years, yet prices keep going up. Looking at the number of tickets available for the next few matches, have the club now finally priced their own fans out of going? Brentford tomorrow nearly 700 available but the cheapest adult ticket is £51. Milan next week, over 4700 available but the cheapest adult ticket is £ 47.50 & Watford the week after almost 18500 available. Add to that extra games in the Champions league & people will have to pick and choose their games.

I know that everyone appreciates the investment in the team, the stadium & the the facilities and the success that we have had, but it seems that from a pricing point of view the club is completely out of touch with its fans. If pricing keeps going the way it seems to be, that new stand is going to look pretty empty on occasions.
