Metrolink to / from Etihad

It's ridiculous that it often takes two hours or more to travel ten miles home after a match on public transport. Somebody posted they lived in Hull which is almost a hundred miles and their journey was under two hours!
probably one of the people who park on the double yellows near asda

spoke to a group who were visiting Manchester for the game Sunday and they said the MetroLink was a complete pain in the arse to understand for visitors, with the signs on the bus not corresponding to what they see on the phone.

Slightly off topic but I was on a well loaded tram from Town to Didsbury this afternoon.
At Chorlton, a group of feral kids boarded and started squirting around a can of deodorant. A lady next to me told them to stop as it may trigger someone's asthma. I then took it upon myself to snatch the deodorant can out of the hand of the kid standing next to me and chucked it out of the tram window.
This was met with a round of applause from everyone in the vicinity, and the kids were shocked as they obviously weren't used to being told to stop doing anything anti social by their parents or teachers.
The coming together of everyone else on the tram restored my faith in humanity!
It was probably stolen anyway.

I know what you mean Paul. I had a pint in the back of the stand after the match on Sunday. Walked round to the tram stop and caught a tram straight away. Even then I still didn't get home till after midnight.

Has Burnham ever ridden up and down the Metro on match days/nights to witness and experience what happens on a 'service' that is not fit for purpose ??

We must start doing what our forefathers did by holding the politicians to account and taking militant disruptive action.

The metro shambles must not be allowed to continue.

Anyone have Burnhams email or home address ??

Another empty tram to Ashton passed through etihad last night and didnt stop. metro guy on the platform phoned to ask why and was told "driver didnt fancy it"

I emailed when it happened last time.....standard response then ignored.
Colour me shocked.

Disgraceful.

As a couple of posters have said on here that Mayor bloke should get his arse down and get in the queues a couple of games especially in winter ( I use the tram maybe 2/3 times a season now as I drive from around 90 mins away) but, even when local I'd end up either walking back to town or going for beers around the ground after the game.

Rather than an empty tram to Ashton, isn’t it more likely to be a special turning round at Asda and heading back to town?

When this happened last night we asked one of the metro guys why has this happened again and the reply was driver error, he had been told not to stop at Holt Town and got the stations mixed up.

those trams say on the front OUT OF SERVICE do not board. Terminating here.

terminate....terminate....terminate...........said in a dalek voice

There was disruption on the Eccles line before the game at the most inappropriate time.

Hope @EcclesBlue and anyone else from that end wasn’t inconvenienced too much and made it in time for KO.

Second time this season they have drove past at the ashton stop. Definitely not turn arounds to go back Manchester, Ashton on front with people on it. We get plenty going past to turn around at Asda as well as those.

Yesterday was a nightmare again. I ended up getting into the ground 25 minutes in due to the delays on ashton line. Issue with a car on the line this time. After the match it was traffic. There is a different problem every single week, I am sure they just have a list and choose a random excuse.

I wouldn't mind as much if they stopped lying to you. After arsenal next tram 3 minutes on board. I timed it and it took over 20. Other times they just turn the boards off if they know it is late.
