They have their uses. Leave a London ground at 10pm, struggle to M1 or M40, drive another hour and there's fuck all else hot food available. McDonald's at services are often the only option and they also have a few 24 hour places in towns close to the motorways.

As years went by, the best stop points at service stations got replaced by the above shit. Ironically, it seems like the fast food chains are starting to be phased out of the US hotspots as more come chains come into England.
