I thought he was better than he has been, but I wish I could be the highest paid whatever in the world and have as low a standard as he seemingly does.

Once again we completely fail him in terms of service. He did his job, he scored when he was fed, he battled when we went direct, kept it well and got us out. He played some lovely link up balls, particularly directly from ederson, he did everything asked of him to a high standard, it's not his fault we aren't asking him to do more in the game. We have to make better use of him.

It's like having your own private Michelin star chef at your disposal and only asking him to make you beans on toast.

Do you mean Golden Boot winner both seasons in the PL and in the running (robbed last year!) for the Ballon D’Or? THAT standard?!
He's been awful for the last few weeks. Are you denying that? He's ONE OF the highest-paid players IN THE WORLD, and Blues like you hold him to a lower standard game in-game out than you do Rico Lewis, which I'm pretty sure I see you routinely dig out in the match threads.

He is what he is as a player.Find someone else who can score at the rate he does and they’ll be on similar wages

He's on track to be the best goalscorer of all time, and I do love and respect him, but I think one of the highest-paid players in the world should be pressing harder, able to create his own goals without others, etc.

I'm not putting this all on him, as I've said previously, Txiki and co needed to recruit super athletic, ball-wining midfielders to compensate for him, not Gundogan, Kovacic, KDB, Foden, etc...

If only he weren’t paid so well, eh?!

Give your head a wobble, mate, because (and I hate to mention it to you) City signed a contract to give him €XXX a week for a reason, and as top scorer by a country mile, I’d suggest he’s fulfilling his end of the deal.

Now, if you want to step away from your paycheck envy and discuss his football, there might be a discussion to be had, but I’m doubting it.

And, I’ve both praised and panned numerous players at various times, but one thing I have not done and will not do is say “for €X a week, he should do better, care more, kiss the badge” or any other bollocks that’s not directly related to on field production.

Good lad

The only positive player

Need to build the team around him asap
I think he’s been way off it and at times he cuts a disinterested figure.

But…

We have changed our playing style from when we signed him to the point that it’s almost pointless having him in the team.

He absolutely wasn't awful against Brighton though, was our best player in the first half along with Kovacic, scored and his hold up play was good, in the second half we stopped trying to find him completely, if he was playing for the dippers and with that amount of space in behind he would've had a field day, but that's not our style.

Jonas, you are one of those weirdos that will be happy when Erl leaves: No more goals, but I'm happy cause the wage expenses are down.

Yeah, we've been intoxicated with the likes of Aguero 'n Corradi and expect any other striker to fit the same mould. Erling is a different bunch of grapes, and despite any criticism about the lack of play bringing in other players, the number of touches, etc, I just count the goals. He got the team in the driving seat on Saturday and the rest couldn't get it together.
