Flexi Gold season ticket

I’m not sure mate. Danny said the number of tickets transferred using the City ticket transfer function. the amount listed on the ticket exchange and the number of no shows were of a similar total. The number of no shows were between 10 and 15% for most games.
Wow,

No wonder they aren't making S/T's available.

Although I would have thought money up front is better than an unsold seat but then again they are all selling and late available seats are mostly exchanges.

Guess you've done the maths?

That sounds bloody expensive!

More than I pay in SS2 for a bog standard S/T
Yeah, about £200 more. If it's true people only do about 14 a season then if the club can sell the bottom two bands at £53 each they make even more of a killing. Income from a seat in this area on that basis would be just under £1100. No wonder they want more flexi-tickets

More flexi tickets equal £150 extra straight away. 3000 x £150 is 450k every year. Based on adults only. Or put another way £450k in City bank rather than £450k in 3000 city fans banks...

City will be making 3,000 more flexi golds available for the 2026/27 season. They are not committing figures for next season given the ongoing North Stand expansion.

City stats continue show the average season card holder attends 14 Prem home games a season.
So no 'real' season tickets for next year?

The current policy is for flexi golds as City Matters told us . How more of these are offered for next season is linked to progress on the building of the North Stand expansion. The 3,000 extra flexi-golds is for the year after.

What Danny probably didn't say was if the club would also offer all non-renewals as SCs/Flexis in addition to the 'new' Flexis. I suspect not as that clearly hasn't been the case over the last three seasons.

600 Flexis were offered and sold out in minutes to new members for this season. There is no way that was the total number of non-renewals. The season before it was a handful of Silvers and the season before that none.

So with the additional 8000 seats I reckon there will be a maximum of 2000 new ones but quite a bit less in all probability. Fine for the club now with the level of demand from people happy to pay match day prices but a much more difficult sell when the inevitable drop off occurs at some point.

Half the increase in capacity are going to be offered as flexi golds in the first full season of the expanded North Stand being open. They will be offered around the ground as opposed to just in North Stand L2.

There were some new season cards a couple of years ago. A few hundred value golds were offered through the OSC. I posted about this at the time but the info was largely ignored.

That's not my point though. The total number of SCs is a state secret and Prestwich Blue has said in the past that he never knew it when he was the CM SC rep.

40k is tossed around but if it was ever that it certainly isn't now after the last few years. The per match price of any season card is far lower than the match day price for that seat so the club is actively reducing the overall number of SCs. Why wouldn't the club say we have X number of SCs and it will be 3000 higher after the new NS opens?

Take it up with the Club or City Matters mate. I have no input into those decisions.

One thing I will say is that over many years on here, I posted that the Club had a ready made excuse or reason to put season ticket prices up and more recently to prefer flexi golds over full season cards. That’s the thousands of no shows we get at most games. It’s a big job trying to convince City to freeze or reduce season card prices when thousands who’ve bought tickets can afford not to go.

Arguably bigger game than Ipswich and a few others but how the hell are Bournemouth in Band 2

Last home game of the season. Potential title clincher. Same with West Ham last year and probably every year these days.

I still don't understand how a Flexi-Gold season ticket with a ticket purchased '3 weeks before the match' will 'guarantee' that fan will turn up for the match. Anyone?

Tim.

Did anyone from the OSC ask Danny Wilson why he and City are charging City fans an upfront (surcharge) cost of £150 for the privilege of buying a Flexi-Gold season ticket, whilst there is no additional charge for a normal season ticket?

There’s obviously no guarantee of anything. You could buy a ticket at 2.30 and not make it for 3.00 if an emergency came up.

But it’s fair to say, going out of your way to buy a ticket for a game, who’s date and kick off time is set in stone, just three weeks in advance, means you’re a lot more likely to attend than someone who buys 19 tickets for games in advance, with no knowledge of when they’ll be.

No way it’s a 14 game average unless they are counting literally everything in that, including Covid deferral’s I just don’t see it, we have a large core support who barely miss a league game during the season, coincidence that number is the same as games attended/put on exchange requirement ? Seems to me it’s a number decided on to cause a bit of shock & acceptance for the flexi’s

No JRB. I think people knew that City Matters and were already lobbying on this.

I focussed my questions on whether the North East and North West corners of the East and Colin Bell stands could be made premium seats rather than having them in North Stand Level 2, atmosphere end. The polite answer was that wasn’t a runner. Then I asked if the noisier fans in 93:20 and Joe’s (not many of us admittedly) could be encouraged to move to the hospitality section in North Stand L2. Danny said that is something they would look at as part of the communications to fans

Probably wasn't asked, but it has been discussed on here, so I'll ask just in case.

Did anyone ask about the away fans on SSL3 being moved to the ESL1 corner, so the SSL3 away end can become a safe standing City section, giving us the whole of SSL3?

It wasn’t asked JRB.

The only question I can recall about SSL3 was about improving the bars / facilities.

If you are a regular who is desperate for an ST or a regular who can't make all 19 games the flexi is actually a decent product. Yep, you have to pay the extra £15 a month or whatever but the discount is still material if you're used to paying matchday prices. Plus you get the ten per cent off, cup schemes, your own seat, all the other benefits of ST membership. It also means if you can't afford it, you don't go. As you physically pay for the ticket you want three weeks before the game, I'd say the chances of somebody not taking that seat are the same as someone who has paid for a matchday ticket not taking their seat - minimal. Unlike a regular ST, if you've bought a ticket you don't have the mither of the exchange, you can return it for a refund the week before. The areas they made available aren't bad either - I can see absolutely everything from where I am at the front o CB1, hear all the noise from the SS, and the bars down there are quick and efficient and sell Guinness. That said, keeping track of all the ticket-buying windows can be a bit of a faff and I don't like the idea of regular STs being phased out. Nonetheless as a compromise, complementary option, I'm happy enough having one and think the club has done a good job. Would I rather not pay the extra £150? Yes. Do I think it's better than no ST at all? Yes. It's always nice to get something cheaper, but it is genuinely 'flexible', and that has its own value.

Good point, I didn't look at the date but that is stretching it a bit by City.

Might as well say an early season game in late Summer on a nice evening will cost more than a pain in the arse mid week game in December/ January when it's freezing or flooded everywhere

Said it before but repeating,

Anyone lucky enough to be offered F/G for a junior, snatch their hands off.

I will be quids in come season end with taking my lad most weeks
