More than 20,000 people have crossed Channel in small boats since Labour won election
Labour will be publishing a migration plan this week but it will not include targets, a minister told Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips.news.sky.com
As ever, politicians of all colours talk a great game but they do not deliver.
Haigh has continued to lie about the circumstances around her conviction, which if we’re being honest looks like a completely fabricated incident, concocted so she could receive the latest version of iPhone from her company. No, but it’s hypocritical.
Haigh resigned her position for it, even though she was given a conditional discharge.
One seems to be an oversight and the other a targeted attack, but yeah, they’re both the same.
I’d trust Guido Falkes to be a better source than you.Haigh has continued to lie about the circumstances around her conviction, which if we’re being honest looks like a completely fabricated incident, concocted so she could receive the latest version of iPhone from her company.
And she was sacked; the resignation was just a bit of political theatre.
I agree you can’t judge them yet.3-4 months is nothing, judge them on migration numbers in a year. They have deported big numbers, They’re doing deals with France and Iraq and have arrested some high profile people smugglers. All better than the Rwanda gimmick.
They’ve a problem here as what they say on a national level is the opposite to what local councillors will say to their constituents, such is the voice of the nimby!![]()
Backlash from councils over Angela Rayner's housing targets
The vast majority of councils in England believe housing targets are unrealistic, the BBC can reveal.www.bbc.co.uk
We know they are needed but I’d have thought building houses where they are needed would have been a reasonably sensible approach. Still I can’t help wondering if Is she being briefed against after Haigh.
Thanks for your input GreggLooking forward to the Stockport Slag taking over.
Why ? Have you met one, what did they do to you.I agree you can’t judge them yet.
But I bet things are just as bad if not worse this time next year.
I for one am heartily sick of these rubber dinghy immigrants.
They are illegal isn’t that enough. Why ? Have you met one, what did they do to you.
Sigh. They are illegal isn’t that enough.
No they aren’t illegal, they are asylum seekers, in fact many have their applications accepted. Illegal immigrants are something very different, by their very nature we don’t know how an illegal immigrant got here although some will just have overstayed their visa.We also don’t in general know where they are, many will be working. They may even have served you and been very nice about it,you just didn’t know. They are illegal isn’t that enough.
You can believe anything you want, however ridiculous.I’d trust Guido Falkes to be a better source than you.
Newsflash. You can believe anything you want, however ridiculous.
And given that you trust Guido Fawkes so heartily, what do you think about the ministers briefing against Reeves, saying that the (delayed) comprehensive spending review will be a disaster if it’s handled as badly as the Budget? Or the story about Defra not being informed about the change in IHT for farmers? All sounds like a bit of a shit show doesn’t it?
Didn’t they recently stop families coming over with students, meaning foreign student numbers have decreased markedly, creating a funding crisis for universities? Can anyone tell me why if someone comes on a student visa they are entitled to bring family? The people doing social care yes I understand as they are working the students I don’t get.
You may have heard the same bloke on the radio as me. Said all the houses being built were for immigrants. I just sat in the car shaking my head, thinking that some people have gone absolutely nuts!Funnily enough, everyone thinks house prices and rents are too high, but no one wants more houses built near them as 'they won't be for our people, but for those who've come over on boats'. I wish I had a tenner for every time I've heard that.
However, what makes it impossible to deliver the targets - whether you think them a Good Thing or not - is a serious shortage of building tradespeople, made worse by Brexit. Do you see any sign of a programme to train (many) more? No, and nor do I.
Anyway, I'm OK, I've got a house so fuck those who need one. They're all immigrants anyway, because apparently no native Brits want one. They'll just have to carry on paying 50% of their income in rent and not ask for any increase in pay. Because that would be bolshie and 'holding the country to ransom'. Can't have that.
I agree you can’t judge them yet.
But I bet things are just as bad if not worse this time next year.

Depends. If he’s really only on about the 3% of immigration coming in on small boats, then there’s not much any government can do about it, however draconian their rhetoric becomes.Bookmarked, Labour will bring numbers down slowly but surely.
