PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Hard to imagine anything other than a modest fee or maybe even a loan or two in January. The whole thing is about our spending so while the IC is in decision mode it would be too risky to splash the cash. In that respect the charges have served their purpose. Summer spending totally dependent on the outcome as well. Either way, we can't afford to make mistakes like 'Phillips in Palmer out' ever again.
Fuck the IC splash the cash more concerned what’s going on with football than the legal side

The on field collapse is not due to off field issues.

We would have won nothing if that was the case.

The top players have not been replaced and the new players are shit is the answer.

Club failed by not buying better quality players to replace the old guard. It’s that simple.

Charges? Fu k them.

Still had to watch the spending with us contending with the off-field charges. On top of that both Bellingham and Rice opted for different clubs. Not much the board could have done with that and besides that it is a tricky trying to find suitable back up for Rodri and one who can actually fit in with Pep's overall system.

From the outside looking in I find it odd that so many are trying to suggest that there is a single reason for your current poor run of form.

Sorry but to dismiss the off field issues as being contributory is I think burying your head in the sand.

No matter how well paid the players , the manager, support team and the hierarchy will have had discussions and speculated.

The hierarchy will probably be aware, despite their stance, that incoming top players will want assurances should the worse happen be it guaranteed release clauses, no relegation clauses etc.

Then you have the supporters . The fact that the IC has heard the evidence and at this point everything thing is up in the air of course is going to impact.

Your team will be fucked soon as well so buckle up.

Everything has been up in the air since 2018 and the club wasn't done too badly so it's a little weird to suggest that it is now having an effect on-field. The only way that would work is if management are starting to give the impression it is going badly and that gets picked up in the organisation, and by the players particularly. There is no indication at all that that is the case.

When results are poor, fans throw all kinds of speculation at the wall.
We are champions four times on the bounce. We are treble winners. We are record breakers. All of that happened during a period when we were under investigation, either by UEFA, CAS, or the Premier League.

I would argue that the only reason we are currently in a pickle is because we have had a sequence of injuries and illness affecting Rodri, Bobb, KDB, Ake, Akanji, Stones, Foden, Grealish, Doku and Kovacic. In reality, the defence and midfield have been hamstrung and we have been conceding goals. We can argue that the squad has been allowed to age, but we are the current champions. Without the injuries, players who now look over the hill would be fresh, not being asked to play 2-3 times per week, week in and week out.

It is hard to maintain objectivity in the face of one win in ten combined with the natural emotion of being a fan, but I find it very hard to believe that players who have won so much would suddenly be affected by investigations, when they have won in spite of those investigations, continuously.

i very much doubt any info has reached the players. id have a guess and say if it had it would be all over the press within hours

In our execs position I would still want to mitigate against the risk of the worse happening such as relegation and taking 2-3 years to get back to a top 4 club again. To be unprepared for this and jeopardise our future for many years would be total mismanagement. This would have an impact on spending, we’re going to find out soon enough

When there is an information vacuum speculation, rumours and fears fill that vacuum

well said mate.

I would doubt that your management will be giving too much away to the players but the fact is that the IC despite rumours to the contrary have now heard the evidence brings a different perspective.
Hey all this is speculation but there is something significantly impacting and sorry I don’t think it is coincidence that your current poor run of form broadly aligned with the commission sitting

Oh right. I think it's the 14 out of 19 players picking up injuries we've had but your unfounded random speculation is good too

Spot on.

All clubs suffer injuries and whilst you clearly have clearly missed players like Rodri this table points to the fact that the number of incidents suffered by you this season isn’t close to the worse

Thats ridiculous and misses the point. All injuries are not equal, Saka having his 19th "knock" of the season and limping off is not equal to every defender at this football club being either injured or unfit, missing Rodri and KDB for almost the entire season so far.

Don't patronise me with the "oh well all teams get injuries". Yeah they do. But nothing like the scale of what we've dealt with this season. In our most important game of the season, our midfield was a geriatric backup player and a teenage right back while the person playing at right back was literally injured and hadn't trained for two weeks and we had one fit player in our back six outside the keeper.
