PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

When results are poor, fans throw all kinds of speculation at the wall.
We are champions four times on the bounce. We are treble winners. We are record breakers. All of that happened during a period when we were under investigation, either by UEFA, CAS, or the Premier League.

I would argue that the only reason we are currently in a pickle is because we have had a sequence of injuries and illness affecting Rodri, Bobb, KDB, Ake, Akanji, Stones, Foden, Grealish, Doku and Kovacic. In reality, the defence and midfield have been hamstrung and we have been conceding goals. We can argue that the squad has been allowed to age, but we are the current champions. Without the injuries, players who now look over the hill would be fresh, not being asked to play 2-3 times per week, week in and week out.

It is hard to maintain objectivity in the face of one win in ten combined with the natural emotion of being a fan, but I find it very hard to believe that players who have won so much would suddenly be affected by investigations where they have won in spite of those investigations, continuously.
well said mate.

I would doubt that your management will be giving too much away to the players but the fact is that the IC despite rumours to the contrary have now heard the evidence brings a different perspective.
Hey all this is speculation but there is something significantly impacting and sorry I don’t think it is coincidence that your current poor run of form broadly aligned with the commission sitting

Oh right. I think it's the 14 out of 19 players picking up injuries we've had but your unfounded random speculation is good too

Spot on.

All clubs suffer injuries and whilst you clearly have clearly missed players like Rodri this table points to the fact that the number of incidents suffered by you this season isn’t close to the worse

Thats ridiculous and misses the point. All injuries are not equal, Saka having his 19th "knock" of the season and limping off is not equal to every defender at this football club being either injured or unfit, missing Rodri and KDB for almost the entire season so far.

Don't patronise me with the "oh well all teams get injuries". Yeah they do. But nothing like the scale of what we've dealt with this season. In our most important game of the season, our midfield was a geriatric backup player and a teenage right back while the person playing at right back was literally injured and hadn't trained for two weeks and we had one fit player in our back six outside the keeper.

Sorry, nothing personal and I normally like your posts with the experience you have, but your speculation is complete bollocks. Anybody who is affected by the fact the panel started its hearing, or has finished its hearing is an idiot. And these players aren't idiots having been through the UEFA fiasco and the CAS appeal. The 115 case is the same as it was in February 2023, the year these players won the league btw. And since this whole thing started in 2018 the team has won 5 out of the last 6 titles. It has had, imho, no effect on the team whatsoever and there is no evidence at all to support the supposition.

Abso-f**king-lutely..

Everyone needs to calm down and see how the mop flops in January/February. Get everyone (obviously, apart from Rodri) back and functioning, then see where we are, especially in the Premiership.

And also, ignore the media and fans of other clubs acting like WUMs with this latest stupid iteration of slagging City off, aka the 'your players have dropped off because of the 115 charges' garbage.

Clearest example of the logic fallacy 'Post hoc, ergo propter hoc' I think I've ever encountered.

Just ignore the WUMs and get behind the team, everyone. From hereon in, it should be 'heads down, no nonsense, mindless boogie' until we get through this patch and start to scare the bejabers out of the Red Scouse Filth and The Tarquins..

Maybe the players have been told that things went well for us at the hearing and because of that, there's no siege mentality anymore - a siege mentality that drove us all the way to the treble in the wake of the charges being announced - and because of that our form has gone to shit ;)

But it depends where the injuries occur not the number
Best player in the world Rodri injured his replacement Kovacic injured
Could Liverpool still win without Salah VVD and TAA ?
Well we’ve had Stones KDB and Rodri out mostly for all the season
If you watched last night we were arguably not that bad
Haaland scores the 1 v 1 we win that game
The problem is injuries loss of form and confidence and a little bit of bad luck
