Gigs Thread

Chameleons Saturday night, magnificent.
I'm dying to see what the CO-OP Live Arena is like so I might go to Paul Heaton/Lightning Seeds tonight even though they're not exactly favourites of mine.
I did think of going to the Slipknot gig on Wednesday but I've just played a few of their songs to see what they're like and I've never heard so much shit in my entire life.

Just back from the same gig. Paul Heaton, Lightning Seeds and The Zutons all fantastic, but I really detest arena gigs. I think that's me done with anything above a theatre sized gig.
Biggest irony of the night was The Zutons performing an Amy Winehouse cover (Back to Black).

The other thing I've remembered about the Lightning Seeds is that Riley, Ian Broudie's son is a member of the band.
Must be weird for him playing "The Life of Riley" knowing it's all about him!

Got to agree. Went to the Co-Op for the first time and thought it would be a massive improvement on the MEN. Spoiler - it's not. Smaller, nastier seats and really poor design decisions.

I'm only going back under protest and if we can get seats/standing at the front.

The Apollo is the perfect venue for me.

I’ve actually enjoyed all the Co-Op Live gigs I’ve been to - Liam Gallagher, The Killers, Kings Of Leon, and Paul Heaton on Monday night. Maybe it’s because I had standing tickets for all and the standing area is huge, not to mention that it’s a damn sight easier to get down into the standing area than it is at the AO. Also, the acoustics are fantastic. The only off putter are the beer prices!

The Apollo’s good but Albert Hall is the best concert venue in town IMO. The Ritz is decent as well

Yeah standing is better but the seats are too close together. Really uncomfortable.

I've got tickets to see Paul Heaton at the Piece Hall in Halifax next year. Really looking forward to that. Seeing him and what it's like as a venue.
