Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

We need to stop this slow pass build up and hit opponents on the break as we have one hell of an attacking threat but the build up is so slow almost pedestrian at times .
Slow, pass build up has dominated English football. Pep will never go back to 16-18 tactics as a lot of matches were basketball games. We’re struggling at the minute, but a season like this shouldn’t be unexpected.

The biggest mistake Pep’s made is deciding, post-treble, to move away from his tried-and-trusted, measured, controlled football to something more expansive/transition-based.
From the start of last season, the set-up has been much more open (at least one wide attacking fullback, sometimes two) and we’ve shifted from using more controlling players at the top end of the pitch (Grealish, Bernardo, Gundogan) to using more high-risk, high-reward types (Doku, Foden, De Bruyne, Alvarez, Savinho etc.).
Because we have been sussed. Look how shit we were first half against Brugge when we tried to keep control of the ball.

This team is done and we need to change at least 5 players to even start rebuilding again.

Mate, ALL of that is history, it matters very little to how we are playing righr NOW unless you want to constantly look backwards!

It isn't about us not winning the title this Year, if we never win it again I couldnt care less tbh, we are playing awfully and it isn't getting better because Pep will not adapt, certain players have been bad but you adapt to what you have at your disposal. Everyone else has to, so we dont because our Manager has won it all? Rubbish.

75% of the team haven't suddenly become shit overnight, they just need to be deployed in a better manner than they are until we can strengthen, watching them pile forwards knowing they can't retreat fast enough, whilst we get countered every week isn't their fault surely?

Now is the time for Pep to bring Gareth Taylor into his coaching team to bring some fresh and innovative thinking in to his plans :)

I think it’s fair to question his tactics this season.

OK, none of it is Peps fault, give him a full new team and he will replicate what we've done previously... is that better?

We never looked this bad though mate, not in 19-20 and not in 16-17.

Cut the crap for goodness sake. City has never been this bad under Pep. The team is actually embarrassing this season and it's not illegal to be critical of this.

I'm personally glad the best manager of the century decided to extend his contract, but then again, I'm not a moron.
He took a considered decision to leave at the end of the season. His decision.

Why do you think he decided to leave? Are all of those factors irrelevant now, I.e. him thinking that it’s time to go and move on?

Do you even think about things like this?

It depends on the nature of the criticisms. Some are going out and are stupid. A bad season after 4 great seasons is something normal.

And we were never as good as in 23 and the first half of 24. We went 26 gamed undefeated in the CL and 74 games undefeated with Rodri in the team. After historical highs it's normal to have a bad season. Again, only stupid people can't understand it.

It's not only bad, it's actually embarrassing.

It's not about having a bad season, it's about these pathetic performances and Pep doing the same shit over and over again, the players he still has are still good enough to easily make top 4 and at least have the same points as Forest, we're having a scrap for top 4 when we really shouldn't.

We are currently in top 5 despite all the injuries, especially in defence and CM (Kova has been injured twice, not just Rodri).

Making the top 5, which is likely to be enough for a CL place, is good enough this season.
