Thought he played well today. Tried to make things happen and a wonderful pass for the winner.
One of his better games over the last 18 months, lovely weighted assist to De Bruyne and another assist to Lewis. Would have had a third assist had Bernardo scored.

I hope he can get some form abd confidence together and make Pep want to keep him but it's up to Jack himself. Needs to make a mark on games he plays though to have a chance of starting the following game. Not easy when he's got Savinho and Doku fighting for the same position though.

So he has only played 2 games recently and has been one of if not the standout player.

Yes, they were cup games against easier competition, but he is standing out from the whole team and you can only beat whats in front of you.

I have also been one of those who assumed (probably correctly) Jack has fallen out with Pep.

But who is to stay there isnt a way back in?

He of course will need to be played in more serious games like the league, but if he can continue playing with more "cutting edge" like he has in these 2 games, then maybe he will earn a spot, or atleast squad spot.

I don't understand why he isn't getting more run in the middle of the field. He does not have the speed to play as a true winger but has a good handle and draws defense which i think would be a benefit centrally.

Don't think Jack has the vision or the required close control, to play within the tight confines as a central #10.
On the wing he has far more time to hit the type of excellent pass he gave to KDB for the winning goal.
He played very well yesterday, but Pep preferred McAtee to play behind Marmouch.
This speaks volumes about where Jack is ranked...

Not sure he has the fitness for the centre, he always looks winded, his fitness improved considerably after his first season but seems to be going backwards again.

There's too much talk about Grealish whenever he gets a goal or an assist. It should be expected, not a rarity.

He scored a penalty against Salford, OK he played well that game and got a few assists, but it was Salford. Should it even be highlighted

He got an assist with a good pass against Leyton Orient and I've read more quotes and praise for him.

Come on, it should be the norm, especially against lower league opposition.

He looks knackered especially later in the games, jogging back on Saturday on more than one occasion, it's not as though he was busting a gut all match, somerts not right, none of us know what it is, but it's evident things are not great at present.

But let's all be honest here, he is needed to see us through this campaign, whatever happens in the summer, but for now he is needed, and hopefully he can get back into a decent rhythm between now and then.

Maybe he's been breastfeeding his baby all night.

Probably because the focus when his numbers aren't great? His game has never been numbers but everyone has a hard on for them, without looking at how he might have played a game. Look at the recent one of he hadn't scored or assist in a year. Nobody was arsed that his minutes was the equivalent of about 10 full games. He was alright on Saturday as should be expected. The problem is he doesn't get a run of games to then judge him fully. We can go off when he does play. Saturday was good, if he played crap and didn't assist this thread would have been going bonkers.
