Metrolink to / from Etihad

Another Met broke down before the game yesterday grounding all Mets to the Etihad from Town with half an hour until kick off. Everyone got off and walked. That’s the third time that’s happened this season, plus two other occasions where a broken down car has blocked the Met tracks between Town and the ground.

That’s ¼ of our 20 home games so far this season where I’ve paid to get to the Etihad yet had to walk either the full way from Town or at least half of it.

They wanted fans to stop driving to the ground and use public transport, but the public transport is diabolically shit.

This is madness. I know a chap who forgot to tap out with the same card, and got a fine for 60 quid.

Whenever I have forgotten to tap out, they just charge you the full amount for the journey, which is the end of the line.

Will the tram service be back to normal running from Media City to the Etihad next Sunday.

Eccles to Ashton trams are due to start running again first thing tomorrow ( Monday ) morning

Not seen anything to suggest it’s not on schedule.

I’m not losing my mind and there’s a game next Sunday is there?

Condition of planning consent. How would offering free travel on the tram to the Etihad help?
I wasn’t talking about City I was talking about Brighton, to a poster who mentioned they provide free rail travel, that they also offer free bus travel, it’s classy. Where did I mention the Etihad?

At the game yesterday and still they had you doing that stupid zig zag despite it not being busy.
Surely they can work a way out for a better queuing system for the woman's matches.

Did they put any extra trams on for the women’s game or was it just the regular service?

Used metro once, never again
My method of getting to and from the games. Can be ok at times. However, when it's bad, it's shockingly bad. Regular upheaval due to engineering works, tram faults, points issues etc. make it a real pain in the arse at times.

In my experience, it’s generally ok for getting to the match if you time it right, but I now virtually never bother afterwards.

The people in charge of that chronic organisation are brain dead.

Normally for a night match you would get direct trams back to Altrincham from the Etihad, but because of the Market Street and Shudehill closure you had to change at any of St. Peter's Square, Deansgate Castlefield or Cornbrook to get the Altrincham tram.

I bloody hate that company.
