Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

Yet none (nearly) ever given for the constant fouling in the box at corners.
It seems they use the bollocks of 'not every foul is a foul' line as it suits depending on teams/fixtures
like i said if that is the threshold i would expect haaland to be getting 8 or 9 pens a game for everytime he is rugby tackled in the box

if that is the new threshold for a penalty i would suggest you are going to say ten penalties a game if all you have to do to get a penalty is run into an opposition player in the penalty and fall over regardless of whether the pl has made a challenge or not.

Agree watch it live it's a coming together and the player actually ran into Dias who did touch the ball then pulled out. You watch just the coming together in super slow motion you can make most coming together a penalty!

Villa's pen last night was typical pen against Manchester City, City would never get that given by VAR in a million years

Funny, also by the referee last night, Dias asked him why he gave that, and he pointed to his ear ????
Now, how can the referee be told to give it ? . The on-field referee never should be overruled unless it's a stone wall penalty and a mistake.

Every corner City had should be given a penalty if Dias was a penalty ? The amount of holding and pulling of shirts, blocking, fouling, O'Reilly was pulled down about 5 times last night

Defender gets a (very obvious) touch on the ball before the man = no penalty. That's how it works 99% of the time. I guess we are the 1% and I'm not normally one for all the refs are against us. I just think they're probably a bit shit.

They always cry ‘not enough contact for a foul’ when our players get hit. Yet trot out ‘well there was contact so technically its a foul’ when it’s our opposition, infuriating

Remember Vardy & his teammates constantly initiating contact and diving v young Garcia resulting in 3 pens in one game, laughable brain dead officiating is forever the monkey on our back

I've listen to around 5/6 ex footballers and they all say can't believe referee never gave it! Is it our own bias thinking it was not or marginal? Or is it the grey area in the var rules that make you believe it ain't a penalty if there referee didn't give it on field and the high rule they set is why we believe it shouldn't be given!?
Most ex footballers are not the sharpest knifes in the drawer and dinosaurs when it comes to understanding the rules of the game.

I've no great issue with the penalty, soft as it was. However, the VAR official conspicuously failed to reciprocate at every City corner, when Gvardiol and O'Reilly were grabbed and held non-stop
As ive just put there, its the consistency or lack thereof that i take issue with, if gashfords is a penalty then marmoushs against palace has to be a penalty.

I didn’t ignore it, thought I covered it in what I said. It was a penalty even in real time to me and not surprised VAR overturned, Pawson from his angle wouldn’t have seen the contact as much.

It’s one of those that if it was us as the attacking side, everyone would be screaming the other way if it wasn’t given.
It doesn't matter if you thought it was a penalty in real time. Pawson didn't, and VAR interfered when it shouldn't have.

Yep.. Dias got some of the ball first and how many times do you hear var tell us it was a coming together plus the referee never gave it so bar has to be high to turn it over! If the referee gave it I wouldn't be happy but I'd except it more because of that bar!

We will see an identical incident and referee won't give it var will agree with him and we will hear that var thought it was a coming together and player got some of the ball! With var they can manipulate it if these var kunts has a unconscious bias
I'm not sure for many of them that their bias is particularly unconscious.
