Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

The new ticket compliance officer to stop touts will be the reasoning.

There will be some who go one game a season and transfer the rest, and the club will assume they are profiting off it.
The club made it easier to transfer so they now have the data, and then got rid of Print and Home. I said in 2021 when it started that this is the road to charging for transfers, and it kind of is with memberships needed for those who transfer to more than 3. The excuses used for ditching plastic can now be seen for what they are.
As you say, the club has the data. They know who a ticket has been transferred to. If they suspect it is being done for profiteering they can put a bar on it being transferred so it can only be used by the season card holder or put on the exchange. The ten game personal attendance requirement is simply a way of reducing the number of season card holders so more seats can be sold at match day prices. Except match day prices are now demonstrably too high and seats are being left empty, the opposite of what is being claimed as the objective of the new policy

Pride in battle is has clearly not thought this through. I love City but these measures are simply draconian. If all kick offs were Saturday 3pm for example and.people could plan travel accomodation etc ahead then perhaps but they aren't. That new stand will be full of tourists who will pay top dollar for a weekend experience at the etihad. Tours, ticket, glass walk over the roof, it is going to be the biggest white elephant ever.
Unless we’re competing for titles, it won’t be anywhere near full for all barring a handful of games without a complete u turn on ticketing policy.

I have renewed today and I would now like to relocate my ticket on Friday 19th May, along with my pal who sits next to me.
Problem we have got is he is away in Japan on that date,so he will be unable to relocate his season card on line.
Does anybody know/advice me if I can relocate the pair of us at the same time.( He is on my friends and family list ).
Cheers in advance if anyone can help me.
Do not attempt anything over the phone. Get down to the ticket office in person

Yes pal, 100% agree with you ( and some other members have said the same).
I live at the top of Briscoe Lane ( near All Saints church), so it won't be a big hardship to drive to the ticket office on renewal day.
Thanks for the advice though.

The 10 game rule could potentially make this my last season as a ST holder. Live in Malaga now, gonna be tough to make it to at least 10 games. Will give it a go but games moving all the time for tv make it so difficult to plan.
That would be sad. Contact the club via supporter Services or City Matters and explain your situation.

What is City actual policy with regard to Over 65 pricing on season tickets. I presume there must be one? I knew previously that premium seats gave a significantly less than 50% discount. But looking on Pricing map for Colin Bell stand the cheaper pitch side seats have significantly less than 50% discount and oddly in Level 3 there are ST priced at £860 and £760 but Over 65 price is
£440 & £430 but 18-21 price are same @ £250?
Have any Over 65 or 18-21 prices been raised for 25/26 even though "full price" been frozen?
My ticket in Colin Bell L1 ,block 132 is exactly the same as this season at £415.
Which is more or less half the price of an adult ticket.

I don't know the answer to your question but was surprised to find my season ticket in 117 had been reduced to £375 because I am now 65. Full price last year was £740. I assumed, like the state pension and bus pass, the qualifying age had gone up to 66 so really hadn't expected it.

Yes it kicks in at 65 at present and has for a while.

Unless the ticket is forwarded on like a matchday ticket via email. Currently can't you just transfer it to another intermediary City account and then forward that email on? So if that's still in play then it's not going to stop touting. Presumably this will be closed off like the Madrid tickets where the only option was to be downloadable on to the season ticket holders phone. Not sure whether the Madrid tickets were like that just for season ticket holders or from matchday purchasers too?

That's the plan. With technology they will know exactly how many will find it difficult to personally attend ten games. That will cull a fair few more. If there is no kickback to this policy they will just keep on raising the bar until you have to attend all nineteen. Then like the rags used to do it will be you have to join the cup schemes. Once the season ticket numbers have dwindled they will then raise the price until only the very rich can afford one. By then nobody will give a fuck as very few will have a season ticket or any chance of ever obtaining one so it will go through unapposed. Big business always plans at least three steps ahead.

We had to relocate 2 seasons ago. We had a great lad in the ticket office - took us behind counter and showed us all the locations we could relocate to - it was tricky as there’s 4 of us but we made it clear we weren’t leaving until we’d got a decent relocation. He ended up ringing a bloke who would have been in the middle of our 4 and asking him if he could shuffle up a place, which he duly did.
No chance you’d ever be able to do that over the phone/ online.
I’d also try and get to the office before relocation day and ask to speak to someone who can do the relevant changes and explain what you’re trying to do. Best of luck pal!

This and the fact that it's being dressed up to help City fans attend games. It's not. It's to make sure all those that are in attendance are paying £70+.

The 16 game/10 in person game criteria wasn't run past City Matters as they knew it'd be unpopular. Even the rags that have a much larger fanbase don't have this 10 game criteria. As you say 10 games is the start and they'll keep upping it like they have done with the ticket utilisation criteria.

I thought the 14 game utilisation criteria was fair, but if you are making it even higher than that then let people stick it on the exchange on the day of the game itself. Again they arent doing that as it would be a genuine bit of 'flexibility' on their part like they claim these measure assist with and would help ST holders meet the criteria.

FWIW I've been to every league game this season, but I can't support this. I'd be more accepting of it if the revoked season ticket was passed on to a new season ticket holder. That isn't the case and we all know why.

Don't know why people are blasé about season ticket holders losing their season ticket and the number of them reducing in total providing the ST holder is utilising the seat. Less season ticket holders and I foresee more scenes like Villa.

Well since 1968 and after 56 years of following City and having a season ticket, I have had a message telling me that I can no longer renew my season ticket but can apply for a flexi-gold ticket if I want. Severe Crohn's Disease 11 hospital admissions and 7 operations in the past two years has caused my partner and me to miss too many games (6). We have used the ticket exchange previously last year, but on a few occasions this year haven't had time as I have gone in as an emergency, or its been the lowest of our priorities. The email says that they have been unable to contact me to discuss, but I haven't had any contact from the club. My details have never changed in the past 25 years. I did email a fella called Danny Wilson in October / November but didn't get any response. That was to let them know that I was ill and was worried about this happening. We travel over 100 miles return to get there and when I studied I was travelling over 250 miles for every game. Grew up in Moss Side and its always been my club. It has never been a hassle and it is part of my / our life. I am not sure that I am angry, I actually feel really sad and got a bit tearful when I read the email. I won't be doing the flexi-gold thing. I have always had a ticket, went home and away for 14 years and have always been proud to say I am a blue, even when we were poor. I got to Istanbul and have never missed a final so have my memories. The world is changing in many ways and its wearing me down......
For your life time of amazing support the club should be giving you a free season ticket not taking it off you.

It's just a subtle way of getting rid of season tickets. They know that a lot of fans will say if you can't attend ten games personally you shouldn't have a season ticket. That has actually been said already so they were correct. Divide and conquer. If the fans put their ticket on the exchange I don't see the problem. If it doesn't sell the club have the money anyway. If it sells they often make more on top, particularly with the concession tickets.

Then there is the constant disruption to the fixtures. Look at our last three games at home. Three evening kick offs, one a bloody Sunday night, I have no idea why on that one. Add on holidays, Christmas and Easter when a lot of people travel to be with family and you suddenly see how attending ten fixtures personally could be difficult. Football is supposed to be fun and a bit of escapism from the pressures, grind and conformity of normal life. The club are slowly sucking the joy out of it.

This is very sad indeed. What a way to treat loyal Blues.

To me it isn't even subtle mate. Sad times.
