Wawrinka won 3 of the 4 majors , I think.
Was watching a programme recently on how difficult it was win all 4.
They showed a list of players who never managed it and the likes of Borg, Connors, McEnroe , Lendl and Sampras from the old days couldn't manage it. Agassi did it eventually.
Murray and Wawrinka were equal on 3.

I remember Lendl skipping the French in 1989 to try and win elusive Wimbledon. He was 2 sets to love against Becker in the semi-final when rain came, he lost 3-2!
 
Alcaraz’s form seemed to desert him today. His service was poor, and the drop shot, one of his main weapons was unreliable. Overall his accuracy was missing. He started chuntering at his box, always a bad sign.
Maybe it was because Sinner just would not let him play. His serve was devastating, powerful and accurate. His return of serve deadly. A fine performance and a worthy winner. Not a great final but a relentless grind.

Wimbledon this year did away with line judges. I missed them, their signals and the umpire’s call of “Out, second service.”
The ball boys and girls were brilliant as always, snapping into position and standing ramrod straight. Their training is rigorous and their work rate prodigious. Nobody does it like the Wimbledon boys and girls.

I hate all the bowing and scraping and the doffing of caps to "nobility", but they know how to run a tournament. It's a great sporting event.

I'd rather a player launch that trophy in the air and enjoy the moment milking the celebration. Imagine winning the top tier trophy and immediately having to bow to Royalty. It's so weird.

Also, imagine losing the final and then immediately having to address royalty.

What is royalty? A family of self selecting individuals who call themselves kings and queens. A load of codswallop.
