Oasis reunion

No. There's plenty of people who can't resist coming on here to say how much they don't like Oasis and bringing negativity to the thread.
Why so defensive yeh I know the threads about the reunion but I was just wondering If there’s anyone who didn’t like their music or that type of genre it’s nothing personal Against the lads they’re great city fans, I fucking hated joy division but I used to ride round with Barney on our bikes when he lived on greengate.
We used to joke that we are not giving him a fiver for that shit.
Apologies if I’ve upset you

I meant as a live band. Record sales aren’t really much to go on because people pretty much stopped buying records in the 90’s. Oasis have been the biggest band in terms of catching the mood of the country in many years. They did it in the 90’s and have just done it again. Probably the biggest band to come out of England this century (Coldplay aside) are the Arctic Monkeys yet i bet their record sales are pretty low
Oasis are currently streaming WTSMG four times more than at any other time or any other band, I would argue Noel is a better songwriter than most and Liam is up with the best singers.

The lord clive. Had to think then have i heard of the lord lyon lol. I lived round the back of there, as did Trevor Sinclair but that's for another day. I played on hillock playing fields for Marauders in the early 80s, don't know what it's like now but every pitch was full every week.
I played for Besses Rovers. Marauders had some top players including Ian Scott, Tony Brown.

3 and a bassist…think they just wanted to get bonehead in…decent guitarist but he’s no Gem

Bonehead is a better rhythm guitarist than Gem for Oasis. Gem is more of a lead player but his rhythm playing is very limp wristed. Bonehead plays with more attack.

Even Oasis producer Owen Morris said the true sound of those early Oasis records is turning boneheads rhythm loud in the mix.

Wish you lot that don't like Oasis/Liam/Noel would just leave us that do like their music to it, we get it, go post in a thread about something You like and stop being negative ffs. Why people feel the need to constantly tell people why they shouldn't like something I will never know, just ignore the thread and move on.

Went on Saturday and have to say it was an excellent.

Great weather helped but just a really nice vibe in the crowd. Well organised getting in and out and not a single queue for the bar either. Prestwich was rocking before and after too

As for the band, seen them many many times before in all sorts of venues and they played really well. Liam clearly has had a bit of voice coaching and the reined back style suits him and the tunes.

Shame you didn’t make it to Knebworth. That was the best of all in my opinion (others are free to disagree)

I went to Knebworth, didn't think it was a patch on Maine Rd. I had only just turned 16 though and was expecting a stadium type gig where the whole crowd would be bouncing, which you never get with something as big as Knebworth.

Crooked Rain, EL APACHE TEVEZ and BimboBob on this thread are the music equivalent of football bores telling us City fans that we bought our success.

When Aguero scored against QPR, I couldn't have given less of a fuck where the money came from. And on Saturday night, when I had my arms around my sons shoulders singing the Masterplan, I didn't really ponder where Oasis ranked on Spotify's list of most downloaded British artists.

Yeah....but apart from that?

Went Saturday and it was a great day/night
Taxi from Sth Manchester to Welcome Inn Holts pub Whitefield.
Couple of beers in there/they had a DJ on
20 min walk to HP ,queues to get in werent too bad at 5pm but we ended up quite a way back
Cast not really my thing pretty average,RA was decent and then main event Oasis were superb
Sound was best id heard at an outdoor gig, last 1/2 hr was electric atmosphere

Queues for beers pretty decent but long walk back to where we stoood.

Only downside for me was its a big walk back into town, post gig .
Got a cab back to Stretford from Cheetham hill after 3 mile walk down the walk way.
