PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If we're cleared it means we've adhered by the rules and regulations of the league, something they should be popping the champagne to themselves.

Any appeal from the league to dispute that after all this would only further show the absolute shitshow and motives behind it in the first place.
Why would an organisation want to find one of it's own members guilty of breaking the rules?

Yes, as the ruling body if we are proven to have done no wrong, they should be saying that the investigation was necessary but they are glad that it has finally been proven that no wrongdoing took place.
Of course they will actually say how disappointed they are with the panel’s decision in that case, then string a load of negative caveats as to why it had to be done and waste 10’s of millions.

It’s like our owners fit the description of someone who should be “stopped & searched” the police will say if you’ve nothing to hide what’s the problem. Well, they found a need to introduce the protection of harassment act to prevent repeated, unwanted conduct, including from authorities.

The levels of delusion in the PL executive are now truly bizzare, the clowns are writing rules targeted at some of rhe most eminent KCs and Judges, have they lost their frickin minds ?. Part of me thinks this must be BS..

New Premier League rules state that anyone sitting on an arbitration panel must confirm they are able to devote “sufficient time, diligence and industry to ensure the expeditious and efficient conduct of the arbitration” and avoid costly delays.

I guess this rule might mean that if they need arbitration again, it'll be before a panel of cheap Muppets with nothing better to do...

Just to add about Brittain I asked ChatGPT about her role in the APT….

Brittain’s Role in Governance

As chair, Brittain is responsible for:

• Oversight of regulatory integrity — ensuring rules are lawful, consistent, and fairly applied.
• Safeguarding the league’s reputation — especially in high-stakes legal disputes.
• Ensuring procedural fairness — which the tribunal found lacking in the Premier League’s treatment of City.

Her silence during these episodes — particularly after the tribunal’s ruling — raises serious questions about accountability and transparency. Critics argue that:

• The Premier League has weaponized flawed rules against City.
• Meanwhile, competitor clubs voted to tighten those same rules, even after they were deemed unlawful — a move that arguably entrenched unfair advantage A.

Broader Implications

This isn’t just about City. It’s about whether the Premier League:

• Can enforce rules consistently, or whether it’s vulnerable to political and financial influence.
• Is structurally biased, allowing certain clubs to shape regulations to their benefit.

Well, fuck me. If you have ChatGPT against you, you are doomed!

:)

its genuinely hilarious how much sway the premier league thinks it holds, firstly it thought it could order multi national companies, royal families and governments to open their financial records to them and now they think they can order top legal people about. I grant that they are an incredibly popular sport but stay in your fecking lane.

Two possibilities:
1) To show good governance
2) To enhance the interests of other members. The PL is a collection of clubs and none would suffer if City were punished; they would either remain as they are, or move up the pecking order, and a potential threat to their earnings would be out the way for a while.
The PL should be run by independent administrators for the good of the member clubs, not by the loudest of the member clubs coupled with the broadcasters.

For a profitability, ffp and psr perspective, have city been paying the legal fees for the case? Do they count towards psr/ffp? If we win the case and get legal fees paid, can that money be used for ffp/psr?

Ziegler complaining how much the PL are paying in legal costs

"the Premier League also believes it has a duty to protect the integrity of the competition, defend it from legal challenges and enforce the rules."

If the above is true, the PL aren't making a very good job of it, the useless fucking cretins.

i hope we bankrupt the fucking lot of 'em.

then they come back and ask for a borrow. and we tell them to get fucked again ha!

Seems to me that hubris remains at PL HQ.

The PL have seen Pres Trump flouting the law and removing legal leaders in the USA and feel emboldened to do the same in the UK.
They still think they are an autonomous community that rules itself by ignoring UK law and insisting that their own choice of KC's are subserviant to their wishes.
Good luck with that one but many thanks to them for demonstrating to the existing Panel what authority they think they have.
