I totally agree and sadly, Putin holds all the cards now
It’s all very reminiscent of Munich 1938, ‘big’ countries hold peace conference about a smaller country wanted by a dictator, without small country representation.
On the plus side Ukraine has more military than Czechoslovakia had, and it’s just the US/Trump who is waving an orange piece of paper towards Russia.
The arrogance/naivity of the Brits/french at Munich is increased by the narcissistic stupidity of Trump.

He has Trump exactly where he wants him and if, as I suspect, these peace talks achieve nothing, then Trump will walk away.
In walking away, I foresee US sanctions lifted and military support to Ukraine turned off. Without US total backing, Ukraine has little chance.
under that scenario the only way I could see Ukraine winning is if Europe unite and enters the war, which I think most would agree would not happen.

Nobody is ever winning I'm afraid, there will be compromise somewhere, no matter who says what. Europe is in the war, but they won't be fighting in any of it.
