PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Given the seriousness of the allegations, I’m taken aback that the PL were taken aback. Did they think we’d just bend over for them?
To be honest I think most of us were educated by our resident legal and accountancy professionals to educate us just how serious the charges were.
Perhaps the PL are saying they didn't intend serious infringements in spite of having a competent legal team so that coupled to our usual tak e a pinch stance made Mr Ks intense legal response understandable.
If Mr K gets a non legal hubris driven accusation the first thing he will do is go for the legal jugular.
He doesn't do his own accountancy, sales or protection so give it to a man who can do legal.

I wonder what that actually means (in terms of them being taken aback)

My take is either the way we presented was very forthright.
And or we went fully on the attack and raised our own allegations against the PL and the cartel and pushing that their is an agenda beyond the stated reasons as to why City were charged.

Either way it’ll be interesting when it all comes out… if it ever fucking comes out.
Every shithouse in the establishment wans to bring us down. All of them, clubs and media are amateurs compared to our owners, we cannot be stopped, it's just a matter of when they decide to compete, the longer they leave it the further they fall behind.
You don't have to win everything every year but you do have to remain competitive.
Off the field our opponents know they cannot compete, or maybe don't want to, the Etihad campus is what stands us out from the rest.
I await the next set of rules to try and arrest us, it will be futile.

We know we have dirt on them, Tolmie said the emails we got from discovery showed they had behaved “disgracefully”. What we don’t know is how strongly we went in on that dirt.
Let's hope the PL have fallen foul of the following UK law..

Criminal offence: Under the Enterprise Act 2002, individuals who dishonestly engage in cartel activity can face up to 5 years in prison and/or unlimited fines.

No written contract needed: Even informal verbal agreements or “gentlemen’s agreements” can be a cartel in law.

I swear, if Masters was convicted I would die happy.

It was Kieran Maguire who said that the PL were taken aback by our defence - he's a much more credible source than that Patel bloke whoever he is. I hope he's right.

I think Maguire had proved to be a bluffer on more than a few occasions. He’s already stated he’s had no holidays as he’s on standby for the announcements. This 115 has made him very well off so he’ll give them any sound bites he can.

Maguire is ok but he’s not the guru some take him for. Borson is more the master of the subject.

Borson still sits on the fence, he knows the truth but can't say it.
Really, he has provided more insight to this case than any other without being part of the Independent panel. What else can he tell us that nobody else would know. First of all he is a City fan and happens to be a well educated professional and without his input we would know fuck all about the process and drown in the one sided media narrative and think we were guilty before proven not guilty. If you listen to Talksport (I know) you know Jordan has changed his mind with regards to City.

At the end of the day the Premier league and media has hung us out to dry and will always be guilty no matter what the verdict, but wholeheartedly trust our owners and that’s all that matters.

No he doesn’t. He's forensic and won’t claim stuff he can’t prove.

:) @slbsn gives his opinion on stuff he can't prove all the time. That's part of the reputation he is trying to build up, giving honest opinions based on his experience. And that is in no way a criticism.

He is also a lawyer so he is naturally cautious, nothing wrong with that although it may rub some City fans up the wrong way when they are looking for positivity.

I have learnt more about the law from the lawyers on here these last couple of years than I ever thought would be needed. Always grateful.

That's interesting. I genuinely can't remember anyone saying it before.

For the sake of everyone on this thread, I don't want to make a big deal out of this, but do you remember where and when you heard that?

I think it's a really interesting and important comment if it can be validated.

Im really interested what was said after that….

You’d imagine he asked why, what did City say?
