PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

“Some commercial litigation experts tell me that negotiation behind the scenes is possible — and that horse-trading could be a reason for the judgment taking so long to land. But the more prevalent view within both football and legal fraternities is that negotiation in this case is highly unlikely.
'With both sides apparently having set their stall out at such diametrically opposing positions, it would be hard to envisage a climb down,' the commercial litigation lawyer explains. 'For example, how can City suddenly agree to accept, say, 75 charges or the Premier League agree to write off 50 others? Not now the proceedings are concluded.'The other clubs would go berserk. I sense that the ruling will be the end of it. My sense, based on nothing specific, is that it was an all or nothing kind of case.'

The view echoes that of Kieran Maguire, co-host of The Price of Football podcast, who concluded in a discussion of the APT ruling on the programme last week: 'Given that the legal costs are likely to be in the realms of £100million to £120m, can you imagine how the other club owners are going to react to, "In the end, it’s a misunderstanding. We'll just give them a fine"?'

A deal was always the way forward on 115. Far too catastrophic for either side to lose.

What did City ever do to upset that bitter tosser HERBERT!

Think this may be their strategy. Blame City for them having to join a European super league.
It feels like a large part of what this bullshit is all about. The red shirt clubs conditioning their own fanbases into believing that the Super League is the only way they can be free of City’s “cheating”. In the event of our being found ‘not guilty’, there’ll be a cartel orchestrated media storm about the PL’s inability to punish us and then they’ll re-float the Super League nonsense, only this time with us excluded, sine die. We’re dealing with utter cnuts…….

It shouldn't be too hard to convince foreign fans that a foreign competition is best, it's like stealing the English product by vilifying an English institution namely us.

I heard today from a good source that they could be an announcement this Friday. Reason for the long delay is didn’t want it hastily arranged and needed to be properly planned. Sequential approach to delivering of both cases with smaller one last week to avoid stitch up accusations etc. I have not seen the ruling summary yet but apparently prem league look pretty terrible in all of this so hopefully that means we should be cleared .

You are Lord Pannick
I clam my £5

Lots of things could happen or could have happened.

It is what newspapers and programmes like Ancient Apocalypse rely on, and any click bait. It doesn't mean it is likely to happen or have happened.

City could get relegated this season. There could be a 20 way tie in the PL needing a 190 game play-off. Used a lot on threads like this.

So let me get this clear: you’ve not seen the ruling but you know what’s happening? Is that correct?
