North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

The only way to move on from that paranoid mind set is to actually engage with the club and have a conversation , like you state you don't actually know what they are offering or at what price, but have held the total of 1 maybe 2 conversations that walked away,
Sorry but this is an utterly clueless post. 1894 didn't walk away. We said that we didn't feel we could back the plans as they stand but that our door remains open for further engagement. That was over 12 months ago and we've not heard anything from the club since. The ball was - and still is - in their court so if anything you should be asking the club why they haven't been back in touch.

As for the pricing, the fact that none of us are any the wiser as to the pricing over 12 months on from the first big announcement should be a huge cause for concern for every single fan who wants to move there. You seem to think it's no biggie though for some weird reason.

Anyway, if you think you can do a better job than 1894 on this feel free to set up your own group and pick up the baton with the club. Good luck because believe you me, you'll need it.

So why have the club installed safe standing, the roof designed for atmosphere ? At the end of the day it's fans who dictate the atmosphere, it doesn't have to be the club, 1894 should be pushing it..."cut your nose off to spite your face" comes to mind...

What else have the club done to improve the atmosphere on the new NSL2 tier?

The roof on SSL3 has been designed to amplify the noise, but apart from the big games, the fans on SSL3 don't improve the atmosphere on a match by match basis. Let's see how the new roof on the NS improves the noise and atmosphere inside the Etihad.

3000 safe standing seats out of 8000 seats, with the 3000 safe standing seats spread out along the very back 14 rows of seats, and down both sides of NSL2, either side of 5000 GA+ and GA seats in-between. The 3000 safe standing seats, and people standing in-front of them spread around NSL2 instead of all being together across the top of NSL2. The club made that decision, not the fans. That was a revenue decision. Keeping as many seats in the centre of NSL2 as GA+ and GA seats.

The no seats removing isn't confusing. It can only be either true or false. The fact they have made this statement means to me it has to be believed.

If its wrong it is an almighty fuck up from City in my opinion. Imagine being told your seat is safe and you won't be moved to then months later find out it isn't true and you need to move.

It could be true or false, or time relative.

The statement doesn't really specify the location of seats not moving either. Or of those moving.

They just say that some seats need to move to accommodate the City Hall space, but not the Cross Bar, and individuals will be notified.

If the Cross Bar is the seats at the front of the 2nd tier then fans have to be moved.

You can't have EVERYTHING, the cost is 350 million plus, a huge amount of investment, can't you just accept decisions have to be made regarding finance ? Yes we all want £10 tickets etc etc but it ain't happening.

Went on the planning portal map on manchester.gov.uk
In the documents listed, it is drg number NSE-POP-ZZ-ZZ-DR-A-009100 P08
"North Stand level 00....
Other dogs for other levels etc
Odd, I can only see one drawing listed against NSE-POP-ZZ-ZZ-DR-A-009100 (rev 1) which is L00 so shows City Hall. The Cross Bar as it's now known is on L01 "NORTH STAND L01, COMMERCIAL L01 & HOTEL L01 PLAN" NSE-POP-ZZ-ZZ-DR-A-009101 REV 01.

Since the club allocated 10% of the away tickets to the youth, which is a great idea, our away support, which has always been good, has got better.

So why hasn't the club allocated a block of safe standing seats on NSL2 to the youth? 500 youth singers all together in a safe standing block on NSL3 would make a right racket.

It's obvious ideas and initiatives like that the club should be taking forward and implementing before the stand opens next year

Nobody's asked for £10 tickets so you can cut that bullshit out. You're only this thread to be a wumming prick. I don't know what 1894 have done to you to make you feel so bitter - did one of us shit in your cornflakes or something?

No one is downplaying the owners investment or whatever

Fans though have a right to question a club’s business plan for the next 5 years, we got that off FSA - the guidance is that clubs can give that information to fan advisory boards for example as long as it is NDA’d

Everyone would want to know if I move what will my price look like in the medium term , the club plans ahead

We didn’t ask for this process. We are already in the south stand doing our best. It was the club who brought this on citing a blue wall. We don’t have to have to work around their over the top targets for match day revenue generation, we make the case for an atmosphere and fair prices and eliminating empty seats.

You get a mortgage you know what the fixed rate is for 2/3/5 years. You also know if and when it would go up. Going to the match should be a lifetime decision as it always has been.

They’d make more by having full capacity and taking fans with them . Fans spend more then.

Well as part of the announcement on September 26th 2024 they did say this:

"In addition to the atmosphere, the expanded North Stand will create a legacy by establishing new pathways for the next generation of Manchester City fans to enjoy matches at the Etihad Stadium. To achieve this, we will ringfence a significant number of tickets specifically for fans aged 21 or under."

It doesn't say anything about ringfencing the tickets in the safe standing area though and I'm not sure they've put any more meat on the bones regarding that since apart from the bit about 2000 flexis for younger fans but that's spread around the whole stadium I think.

They might do yet ;)

Agree, definitely needs more joint dialogue.

The ring fenced tickets can be anywhere (in fact all of the new Flexi tickets can be), the hope is that the (hopefully) cheap standing tickets will appeal.
