PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If the Premier League were so convinced it was a slam dunk case, I'd argue the longer it has gone on, the better.

Certainly a slam dunk doesn't take a year to conclude.

As recently evidenced by the coach and horses City ran through these idiots over sponsorships, we are not dealing with geniuses.

Given what we wrote in those emails, we're not geniuses ourselves.

The length of the wait doesn't mean a huge amount in and of itself, but I'd be surprised if the club weren't starting to feel a bit concerned.

Yeh but the emails from Pearce were taken in isolation and left no room for a wider understanding of the context surrounding them

You think they are going away once the result is out?

It's going to get even worse. If we are cleared it will be wall to wall coverage of how City paid them off, if we get a 100pt reduction and end up relegated it will be the biggest news story in the history of football and will be wall to wall coverage all season until we are gone and then even more so when we are fighting our way back in next year.

if anyone tries to have a dig at you as fan, you laugh in their face. They know less about these charges than we do.
Quite frankly I couldn't give a fuck how it goes after the amount of time being taken.
Just get it FUCKIN done - what happens after happens - most on here will still follow God's own club.

whilst I live in eternal hope of City being cleared of all charges, isn't the opposite also true, if our evidence against these charges was 'irrefutable' then why are the panel still going through it
Two of the panel have died of old age, and the third panel member has just had a telegram from the King.

Said every fraudster and tax avoider in history.

If we’ve broken the rules mate we deserve what’s coming.

Im surprised given the malicious intent of the media that you are not questioning what was released when that Portuguese twat hacked into our accounts.

They are not going to paint the whole picture are they, otherwise there wouldn’t be a story.

Because one man's irrefutable is another man's bang to rights I guess.....just depends which side you're on......

If we have broken rules designed to stop us unfairly that’s fine with me.

With you on that. I would only be pissed that it was done in a way that proof could be so easily found by some Portuguese **** and a German newspaper, especially as there were so many ways around the rules "legally".

Just to reiterate, though: I don't think the club fraudulently inflated sponsorship in the way we are assuming the PL suggests (for a host of reasons) and, even if the club did, I don't think the PL would be able to prove it to the standard required.

The rest of the assumed allegations I don't care about much, to be honest.

So, as you were.

For what it's worth, I think we can now assume the time it's taking is due to something going on that we don't know about. I think we have crossed the point from "it's a lot of words" to "wtf is going on?". I get that such timing isn't unusual in the legal world, but this isn't the High Court, it's not even an arbitration under the Arbitration Act. It's just a disciplinary process between a self-appointed regulator and a "regulatee" :).

I find it difficult to accept that the panel may take into account sporting considerations in the timing of their award, but wouldn't take into account the damage to the sport of taking too long. Just too inconsistent.

I also find it difficult to accept that, if something is going on, the two parties don't know about it. If it is significant enough to warrant months of extra consideration, it most likely required extra clarification from the panel. So these stories about the parties sitting patiently waiting for something they have no clue about doesn't sit well with me. I am not questioning what people have been told, I am questioning their interpretation of it. I can do that because I don't give a fuck.
