Is fast food dead?

I do feel sorry for fruit and veg sellers at the moment with the big supermarkets selling veg at 10p a throw. Places like the stalls in Ashtom market must be fuming at the lost business, saw a bloke in Tesco today with a large trolley packed with cheap potatoes (sure he has a shop....). they should limit them to two per customer or something like that.

Two spuds only ? Seems harsh

Cmon gravy costs literally nothing, as for dessert it cost bugger all to whip up an apple crumble. Its hardly fair to compare a good quality £30 joint of beef with the shite in a McDonald's.

Anyway the point was £7.60 for low quality fast food is outrageous and by the time you scale it up to a family eating, £30 to sit on a plastic chair and eat shit out of a bag seems terrible value, yet some people seem to like it, nowt as funny as folk.
All of that is fine i just said you cant feed 4 adults for the price you quoted, nothing more.

Anyhow you forgot the gravy and the desserts :-), so no you can't really feed 4 adults for the price of 1 and half big mac meals.

Also reading the reviews of the cheapest tesco stuff at still over £11 a kg the consensus is its fat ridden shite.

Problem nowadays even a sarnie and pasty(small square barely warm thing not a proper pasty) from greggs is over a £5. Had a kebab the other week on naan £7.50. Eating is expensive or we were used to very low inflation for a decade so its a bit of a shock to the system
No it isn’t.
You just eat expensive shite.
Pasties, naans, kebabs, MacDonalds - all utter processed shite.

Fast food is never dead. I went for a long walk yesterday and there were shops absolutely everywhere selling takeaway food.

Having it delivered if you’re capable of going there yourself is lazy beyond belief.
Probably bit of money laundering going on

Fuck all wrong or anything to feel shamed by for indulging in a bit of fast food from time to time.
I spent last night in a Michelin star restaurant which was delightful.
The McDonald's I've just had dropped off tastes even better though (due to the horrendous hangover and not leaving the settee all day admittedly) so there's a time and place for both.. :-)

Rather eat the soles of my shoes before McDonalds shite

No what isn't?

I do sometimes eat out so fucking what? Do you make all your own sauces, never eat out of a can, everything from scratch?

Fucking food bores:-)
You said eating is expensive, its not. Nothing wrong with eating out whether takeaway or fine dining, but it shouldn’t be in place of home cooking which doesn’t need to be expensive.

Never said it should be in place of home cooking, fuck me someone mentions a kebab...... haha

Not sure you would be the authority on deciding if meat, which is what we were talking about, is expensive. I find a £15 joint for example dear, you dont. But I dont care what you eat so just do what you do.

Don’t why you think I wouldn’t be an authority on the price of meat, depends how many you are feeding obviously but you can get cuts of meat that are cheaper than £15, especially if you use a butcher who will cut the exact size you need.We just had a Sunday nice roast for 2 including a decent glass of wine for under £10.

Made up for you with your quality cut to size meat and a glass of alcoholic wine for under a tenner, hope you enjoyed it.

I occasionally maybe once a month use a Chinese or Indian takeaway for the past 20 years.
Family owned with family members making the delivery.

Not a cat in hells chance would I use one of those food apps.

I also make my own doner block in the freezer and if I fancy one slice off a few bits and fry or oven cook.

Takeaways are convenient when pissed up but for a lot of folk now like my neighbour, on them every night ffs, lazy twats!

We did, always do as I said good food, good meals don’t need to be expensive, sorry that upsets you.
They don't need to be expensive but let me tell you, a ribeye of A5 Wagyu is worth every penny for the joy and happiness it brings to one's palate compared to Tescos finest version!! :-)

Funnily enough my son was sending me pictures of his Wagyu bavette staff meal just last night :).We sent him a picture of our Haggis, neeps and tatties sausage rolls with beans. :)

Which is another fine dish which I'm looking forward to indulging in on my quick visit to Glasgow next month.
