Prime Aguero or present Haaland

Yer get no points if yer get no goals. We had a fair number of lasses who could have scored last night but didn't - no goal, no prize. Thething is that without Erl's goals or Sergio's goals we'd have probably won nowt or very little. Still doesn't answer the question - Sergio or Erl!
You get no points if you get no goals? Haha i would read the post again especially the large part of it talking about goals and points:-)

The answer is Sergio as its been since the thread was open. And it always will be unless big Erl improves his all round game.

I almost had to go for a walk to calm down after reading the above post.

I take your point on the nonsense of the thread, but as for the rest ……

To say he was absent for most of the QPR game, when put into context against THE most important moment in our modern history is downright scandalous, not to mention disrespectful

You need to have a rethink

I never saw Aguero give less than 100% in a City shirt

If anything, this thread is unfair on Erling, as he’s not even close to Sergio
It is why I posted to get the reaction I have got

This is what these threads do when really you should never compare the 2. Completely different players and times.

However listen to Sergio talk about the QPR game, he himself has said he did nothing until the goal.

I watched Aguero live against us at the Emirates a few times and his movement and game intelligence were superb. I appreciated him more having seen him live as you see much more of his off the ball work and how his football brain worked.

I not knocking him but besides QPR where he was absent most of the game

Liverpool when we won 2-1 and Bayern

What other really big games did Sergio sort out for us

That is why these kind of threads are nonsense
4/10 - telegraphed the clarkie too far in advance................ :-)

I'll happily admit that I'm in the Sergio camp and think I posted to that effect earlier in the thread but it does seem a bit like an apples and pears comparison. When Erling was on his super hot streak (as opposed to just his normal hot streak) I was thinking I might have to change my view but with the way the team is playing now (the team, not Erling in isolation), Sergio would be more likely to make a difference.

For the younger fans, you only have to watch Sergio's 30 minute debut to see what he brought to the team. Two very different goals, one a typical poacher's back post finish (a la Big Erl) and the other a 25 yard screamer out of nothing. It's the second goal that sets him apart at the moment because that's not a typical Erling Haaland finish. Sergio also got a clever assist for David Silva through sheer determination and pace.

I think Erling is a better outright finisher but he needs a supply of quality balls to enable him. Sergio brought more individual brilliance to the team and could create his own chances. We could definitely do with some of that right now!

We are comparing apples with oranges

Aguero is obviously a better player, no ifs no buts. However, Haaland knows where the net is

Pay your money take your chance

But I’m an Aguero man

I don't think haaland gets the service that aguero used to get and haaland is tightly marked out of games as of late with little service so not really a fair comparison
