Got rid of the amazon firestick, using an android stick now.

The Dcolor GD2 is a rebadged version of the Thomson 270, which is an upgrade on this and is slightly cheaper. Buy from World of Satellite to avoid fakes on eBay etc.

Homatics Box R 4K is a step up but more expensive. Has replaced my Shield and runs a lot better and can be found under £100.

Formuler Z12 is supposed to be the top option at the moment but a lot more. Will be interesting if rumours of Nvidia upgrading the Shield happen

I can’t even load NordVPN on my FireStick ffs.
What is the best alternative to FireStick for under £100 ish?
Ta
Firestick is offloading and preventing installing apps for fun these days. Need to get onto something new I think.

Looking for end user recommendations regarding Android boxes. My current set up is Amazon cube and a firestick on the other tv.

I’m looking to upgrade from these and want to try an Android. I’ve seen one or two mentioned on here already but reading online reviews, they do throw up some negatives ( I appreciate all reviews do this), so was hoping anyone on here actually using one, could share their experience pros and cons.

Obs has to be able to side load 3rd party apps ;)

Budget up to £100 per unit

I get an error code 404 when I try and watch now. Think that means server not available. I guess that is a problem with my provider rather than my firestick. Is that correct?

Cinema plays ok on my mates fire stick think it an older firestick.
The latest firestick prevents any side loading or unapproved apps. But they are still selling the 4kHD firestick which is fine. Anyone sticking with firestick - just make sure you buy the right one.
For interest, I’ve watched last three games on good old Kodi (Rising Tides app on Red Wizard build) it’s on my MacBook Pro. Not buffered or missed a beat for 270 mins of football. And I only installed it as emergency back-up in case my IPTV failed !

My z10 formular and 1.2 gb virgin package is flawless with or without vpn
Came pre installed with Surfshark and many other apps that i don’t really need.
I’m always pre warned of any outages
I did have to buy my own router package with the hub 5 really limited and shite
So replaced with a tp link deco x75
Although not wifi 7 capable 6e is enough
To give me over 100mbps download

Also I didn’t know z12 was out ?

Spot on. Your current Firestick/Fire Cube is still fine for now. You can still buy the normal version that works/side loads. However, future firmware updates might change things.
So i'm sticking with my Fire Cube, and will look around when i need to. By then i assume i can get the latest best thing, or the ones currently the best will be cheaper etc.
Amazon will have to learn the hard way why people really buy their Firesticks.

Always used a box instead of firestick.
It's all 'pros' and no 'cons'
