What do you mean about google tv check?
My box is loaded with google tv. I never use it and havent 'nulified' anything.

On my Samsung TV it starts up asking which input to use eg Amazon fire stick and say whatever you call your device.
When I select my android box (Mi) it fires up to Google TV from where I can select the various apps I have installed on Mi.

You will have done all your Android permissions that allow side loading but there is also the Google TV part that can in its permissions section prevent suspicious apps or apks loading.
Just switch it to off if it interferes.

No experience of Mi series 2 which may have a different Android version but getting it to developer mode shows up Google permissions as well.

Mine comes on with Google tv homepage but I just press 1 button on remote and goes straight to iptv player.
 
I never used downloaded I download RS file manager and use OneDrive cloud then I can download the apk on my phone then put it in my phone OneDrive app then when opening the RS file manager go into cloud where OneDrive is! Means all my apps are always in OneDrive!

Dunno about any of that but I can get my iptv app on my phone as well.
 
Can anyone suggest an app I can use on my fone for football films etc.

my firestixk provider used to allow two lines (tv and phone) now only one and I really miss having the app on pho e.

Tivimate is the gold standard. You have to pay a small amount for premium features but its a one off payment and its by far the best imo.

There's a free version aswell but personally It annoyed me not being able to save favourites and the cost is so negligible I just paid it.

I have the z10 works flawlessly
Although there’s a slight delay now I’ve installed a vpn.
I’ve never run a vpn before but was advised by my sub.
