Keir Starmer

Strange that our wonderful press aren’t shouting about this!

Uk Economy
This probably had a lot to do with that. It wasn't really an increase in productivity, we just had a spike in population growth that pushed us back ahead again.

That said, even per capita GDP figures or productivity rates don't reflect quality of life for the average person. Not enough is being done to address wealth inequality, which is why there can be growth without it feeling like there's any kind of improvement for the man on the ground.

Of course, the rich will always want to focus on GDP growth as a metric in isolation because without checks and balances in place they are also the people who dictate whose pockets that growth goes into. There needs to be a lot more action on wealth inequality.

Because it’s a load of nonsense. Boris Johnson’s government imported about 1.5 million people net and then stood in front a graph with his fat gut and ridiculous haircut and said look at this GDP growth.

It’s meaningless.

It's constant and deliberate, animal spirits must remain depressed, everything is shit, it's all hopeless and it's only going to get worse.
I know that there is some real cost of living crisis going on, and after years of underinvestment and fuckwittery in our country, we can all see it. But, and this is a big but, I’m seeing a real uptick in peoples lives with what current policies have brought.

People are out and about trying to enjoy their lives, getting back to a bit of normality while certain parties and media tell them that it’s all gone to shit.

Things are getting better, don’t let the bastards get you down!

I realise that my post was badly worded.

I agree with you, it's not all hopeless, far from it, but that's the line that is constantly peddled, mostly from the right, but not exclusively them, that the country is in rapid decline, economically and socially. A daily drip of gloom and doom punctuated with calamity and crisis that will inevitably lead to violence and disorder on quiet days and civil war on others when some incident or other is hailed as the spark. Mostly this shite is confected or hyped to the heavens, all of it of course the government's fault and Starmer's face is always plastered front and centre as the man responsible.

Since time began, political opposition has told the country its shit, the other team is too blame and if we just vote for them, all will be well.

We had 14 years on here with the posters not liking the negativity literally dwelling in it themselves because they wanted their side into bat.

It amuses me reading it.

You'd have thought someone somewhere would have come up with a more collaborative system than the divisiveness of party politics by now wouldn't you.

There is something in this, but and it's a big but, when even the Daily Telegraph are beating the drum for civil disobedience then you know it's been turned up to 11.

This **** goes around Jewish communities and says how sorry he is for the atrocities happening in this country but this **** is the main reason these atrocities are happening in the first place by letting all these fuckers into this country

Eh?
The attacker came to the UK as a child in the early 1990s which I guess would have been when John Major was PM and the Tories had been in power for well over 10 years. I’m not stupid enough to blame that government.
Sounds more like the Prevent programme failed because he was no longer required to be part of it. Similar to the nutter in Nottingham last year where a psychotic person was unleashed on to the streets.
