Keir Starmer

Be interesting to hear what she has to say.

Starmer not backing down and confirmed that ST went rogue so was an easy call.
It’ll drop down the news ladder soon so no need for her to say anything that nudges it back up; it’s basically been designated a procedural offence so she can keep shtum.

By the fall, there will be multiple services on strike and picket lines longer than the traffic lines around Dover. There will be so many out that Starmer will then have a volte face. Can picture him with a cashmere donkey jacket on, warming his manicured fingers at the brazier.

I keep getting the date 5th September as a part general strike in head. Just a feeling but it wouldn't surprise me.

Party members free of course? MP's free? "Warned" I thought. Cabinet tho do have to maintain a disciplined line.

Which makes sense to me. It's ordinary folk who are getting cut to shreds with failures and shortcomings and massive inconvenciences already, due to misrule and mismanagement. This is going to be bad for some of them. With the numbers involved, further disruption is almost guaranteed to send some completely blameless victims of all this over the edge, cost them a job, housing, health. We really should find a way to have some sympathy and respect.

And it's very risky stuff politically. There are so many frothers out there who would take any answer as things get worse. They'll wank themselves silly for Baton Charges and Iron Fists. That's human nature, many secretly fancy the authoritarian and will take it the moment it's offered, and we're likely to see the Tories spin it that these actions are full justification for imperative emergency action. Plenty of people out there HATE service workers with a passion.

Be careful what you wish for. Keep it clean and make sure the damage the Tories have done remains the obvious problem.

Too early, no? Schools in England will only have just gone back and the universities won’t be back until later that month. I would expect things to start gathering momentum in mid October but before the school break. As the air becomes chillier and people flick between their online bank accounts and their online meter readings, I expect the disruption to become even greater.
