Metrolink to / from Etihad

Take a tip, I come up from Devon by train and don't try to join the tram from there catch tram to Piccadilly gardens then join tram.
Think I might of actually spoken to and your wife at the piccidilly tram stop it was a couple from down the south coast.

If it was you your wife gave me a city scarf to put on because It was a very cold bitter night

Nothing from City.
My only concern is getting a fine from the enforcement people as mentioned earlier they came on the tram and inspected the ticket last time and said not valid for travel.
Are the cards linked to a payment method? I think it works differently to a normal ticket or pass so I doubt they could do anything now. I saw someone at Queens Road get caught travelling without a ticket on Wednesdays test event and they took his fine there and then. Did they take your details at the time?

No they accepted my explanation after a lengthy discussion.
I pay City each month along with the normal match season ticket.
Disappointed that City did not contact me as promised with explanation as to why it happened even tho they thought the reason was that the fixture was arranged quickly.

After two and a bit weeks after complaining by email (with no responce). I just got this message from ManCityHelp today...

Travelling to the match by tram today? Your pass may not scan, but staff will accept it if you show it when boarding.

So don't worry if your pass doesn't scan. So long as you have the pass on you it's OK.

Just had a text from City saying the same so they are on it.

Confused....you will be.lol. So is the Altrincham to Bury service running via Market street or not?

From Monday 25 to Friday 29 May, improvement works will take place at Piccadilly Gardens. During this time, no trams will operate between St Peter's Square/Market Street and Piccadilly.

All services from Altrincham will operate to Bury via Market Street.

Actually I think I've worked it out, but on first viewing it looked like St Peter's Square and Market street wrre closed
too.

Does anything run from Victoria direct to the Etihad and back? I'm thinking more about getting home to Altrincham after the co op event. Going there i can get off at Market street snd walk to Piccadilly station for the Ashton tram, coming home i was hoping for something a little easier then getting to exchange square.

Really looking forward to having a break from this service over the summer. It's a pain in the arse and a real chore at times and fuck knows what treats they'll have in store for us next season.

Yes it's just not fit for purpose to cater for what is now 60,000 fans and especially if there's an event at the arena at the same time.
All the endless engineering works mean it's often not a viable option on match days. Surely in the close season they should be trying to sort something out so that they can quickly turn trams around so they can get a tram shuttle service going on matchdsys?
On paper it should be brilliant but in reality it isn't. Every service that calls into Piccadilly station on matchdays should just continue to the stadium and then turn around. It's a farce getting on a tram in Altrincham and having to get off at Cornbrook for a connection to the stadium when that same tram is going into Piccadilly station anyway.
We live in hope for next season but will probably just continue with hopeless.

When it's operating at its best it's still poor. The through service to the stadium from Alty is an improvement, but we had that anyway a few years back until they pissed about with it. I think the last threat of strikes led to a less frequent schedule across the network which is shit whichever way they dress it up. In a nutshell it's absolutely horrendous at times and I don't see any improvement on the horizon.

Theres also no consistency with schedules. You'll often get two trams going to the same location within two minutes of each other while you could be waiting fifteen plus minutes for another location. Also those endless trams only going to Old Trafford or Trafford bar on that line which is frustrating if you want to go further. Perhaps that's where they reroute or take them out of service?

As you say confusing wording but it's saying no trams operate from market st or st peters sq to Piccadilly. So you will need to alight and rejoin at either st peters sq or market st and make your own way to/from Piccadilly.

Is there anyone on here that normally gets a Metrolink season ticket added on to their normal season ticket?

I always do, but when going through the process of renewal today the only boxes to tick are ones relating to Metrolink in 2022-23 and 2023-24, which I then get a red-typeface message saying that they are unavailabe to buy. There is no further option to buy later either as I try to exit towards payment for the main season ticket.

Anyone any ideas on how or if I can add this?

Yes, I usually go through the process manually and add the Metrolink card at the end along with cup schemes ever since they missed these off on auto-renewal one year.

Adding the Metrolink card has definitely been glitchy in the past - showing previous years as you have described.

Haven't tried going through the process yet myself, but will see if I can get through it after done with work. Bottom line is I'm not surprised as had difficulties in the past.

Is the club taking the issues up with Metrolink does anyone know?

Regardless of my moaning at times about the trams I'm still going to renew my season ticket as a mode of transport. Anyway, I've got the same issue so hopefully a temporary glitch. As per below it's still available as an extra when renewing.

Just to add to this, it doesn't appear for me as an extra right now, even though it should. Anecdotally, a friend who was converting her child's Flexi to Full ST over the phone last week was told that they "didn't have the information yet" and that they could add it later., so I suspect they are behind with this one at present.
