Raheem Sterling - Done - See main forum

I'm sorry, but I don't agree. I understand the Milner situation, but at least he behaved with dignity and professionalism. I don't have anything against Raheem Sterling per se, but his agent, well that's another story.

I have a suggestion, but I know this would never happen. But in an ideal world it would, if only to show the agents and their trumped up players who is the boss and this is it:

To start lets summarise - Liverpool have a player with 2 years left on his contract, if they don't sell now his value plummets until eventually (thanks to Bosman), he becomes a free agent. So they need to sell, but that means the player has won - I think we all agree his current actions, especially refusing to go on the pre-season is wrong - and surely a breach of his contract.

City could do with him, although I for one am not sure he is the finished article, but he is English and he has potential.

BUT HE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN DOWN A PEG OR TWO.

This is what I would love to happen - City and Liverpool agree a deal BUT IT HAPPENS IN SECRET. We will have him in 2016 and they get something like 35 million NOW. BUT and this is the key thing: for the next 12 months HE STAYS AT LIVERPOOL, he trains with the youth team, maybe sits on the bench a few times, but never actually plays. Maybe that way he will learn some humility. Liverpool will have what they want (some money to buy a strike force) we get Raheem and possibly with a different attitude. Finally, players (especially this one who has got too big for his boots) may realise that football is a team sport, and some clubs have a long and cherished history, that should'nt be shat upon like he is doing. P.S. Im not a Liverpool fan! but if he gets his own way and the transfer happens now what will stop him (and his agent) doing to us, what he is doing to Liverpool in 3 or 4 years time?

so you want to ruin a player's career to keep Dippers happy because they want to be racist, abusive and treat him like shit for 6 months and wonder why he wants to leave?

Totally disagree nixmith2.
Raheem has been treated like sh*t by Liverpool.
Lets not forgot that he said nothing till Bodger broke the news to the press to put pressure on Raheem and got the old lags out to abuse him in public (one after the next) - before Sterling or his agent said anything.
I hope he stands up and walks next summer after buying his contract out for £1.56m under the Webster ruling.

Ok you have given us a lecture on istreee, now you want to give us a lesson on economics. Listen to this you demented scouse fuckwit - Hart £100k, Zabaletta £5M, Kompany £5M, David Silva £24M, Yaya Toure £24M, Sergio Aguero £38M, the spine of a fantastic football team for less than £100M. Now here is what your gormless **** of a manager did with £140M in one fucking year - Sakkho £15M, Ilori £7M, Lambert £5M (LOL, sorry to laugh but really???), Llana £25M, Can £10M, Markovic £20M, Lovren £20M, Origi £10M, Morena £12M, and Mario £16M - not one of them would get close to City's first team today - how much money do you want to waste while still coming out with the mindless shit about OUR financial outlay? Pots and fucking black kettles you thick fucking idiot

DAMM ! That's one fine fucking rant, very well said that man, verry well said .

Surely if he was to do to us, what he has done to Liverpool, we would just fucking sell him for loads & loads of money & wave each other goodbye as soon as he asked to go ?

It would be much worse, if he ran his contract down & was tapped up by another club with a year to go, so we lost him for fuck all.

I'm trying to think if there's a case where that happened recently, & how our fans reacted to it.

They can't even be arsed sending any intelligent ones now.

Ive just wasted half a bottle of San Miguel. It's all over my fucking screen.

Imagine if we had done that to Milner when we pretty much knew 12 months ago he wasn't going to sign a new contract ? Liverpool and their fans behaving like a bunch of knuckle dragging Neanderthals.

If he was rated by us as a £50m player he would be getting a commensurate wage.

So candlepool can take the high ground when they themselves admitted to tapping up Clint Dempsey and unsettling him while he was at Fulham and going further back making advances towards Christan Ziege while he was a Middlesbrough player?
The scousers have handled this badly and have put Sterling in a position he should never have been in.

As a mod you read a lot of ridiculous posts, usually in post approval and decline them
Unfortunately with over a hundred posts we couldn't stop this one
Sorry folks

Sterling can escape at Xmas anyway can't he?
If he signed a 5 year deal in Dec 2012, then by Dec 2015, he's done 3 years and then buy himself out of the remaining 2 years (a legal ruling).

Edit - or has he stitched himself up in signing a more recent one?

All I am saying is that the club must be seen to be more important than the individual. I don't know what the webster ruling is, but it sounds like another tool to reverse what I have just said i.e. make the player more important/powerful than the club. Which is ridiculous, Man City have existed for almost 7 times as long as Raheem Sterling has lived.

At the end of the day, leaving aside all this Bosman/Webster stuff, lets get down to basics: end product (as in goals) not many. End product - as in beating a man and getting in a good cross, ditto. Baggage ? Plenty e.g. Brenda called him the best young player in Europe (a typical teacher ploy to get a difficult student onside), but really he may just be another Rodwell/Sinclair/Johnson, flash in the pan type of disappointment. Or even worse, a Ravel Morrison, another kid who had the chance to have it all but blew it (probably 'cos he had it all too soon).
