For those who believe we should pay £40m+ for a player who i.m.o is worth £25m tops because money is no object to us what would you do in the following scenario, your daughter has seen her dream car, it's a y reg metallic green(her fav colour) fiat punto with the letters js (your daughters initials) in the reg. She loves it and has her heart set on it, it's worth £350 tops, the seller knows it's her dream car so therefore asks you for £1000, you can afford it so would you therefore pay it ?

Epic fail.

1st up 'money is no object' doesn't apply to anyone on this board ( I don't think )so to the analogy is fucked before it even begins.

Secondly you're asking if we'd pay nearly three times what the car is worth as a comparison to paying not even double what you believe Sterling is worth.

Back to the drawing board mate.

Walk away time! We shouldn't be stuffing the Dippers coffers, even if they do end up pissing up the Stanley Park urinal wall. Let 'em have a disaffected player, one who doesn't want to play for them, and might end up as William I'm Gonna Score An Own Goal Gallas! As someone posted earlier there are better ways to spend forty million if we just want a bit of home-grown veg!

Surely the idea here is to not let the owner know it's her dream car in the first place. Inspect it and keep shaking your head and tutting. Then tell him your going to look at another that is her dream car. Maybe then you get it for £200-250.

Golf, cricket, transfer forum and more posts like this one above, it's going to be a cracking weekend of entertainment.

Get the beers chilled.

But it'd be much quicker to arrive with emotional daughter on your arm, wave your wad and shoot your load over the bonnet.

Yeah but that's going to cost you long term when you have to pay the therapy bills for your daughter after she witnesses you jizzing on her dream car.
