It weren't though. We signed Gomez just 3 weeks ago. It's nonsense for you to suggest because Sterling is looking to leave young talent won't want to come. It hasn't stopped ibe from renewing his contract even though clubs were sniffing.

We'll see over the next few years won't we?

That wasn't the point being made though. The point was if LFC treat their employees this way in public, others may be reluctant to join them.

Host on talkSPORT this morning said Sterling/City, Begovic/Chelsea and Cabaye/Palace could all be completed today.

I know talkSPORT isn't the most reliable, but the other two moves have been confirmed in the last hour. Is there a chance this could be done today?

I'm suprised that the Talkshite host could even manage to say that sentance without an ex-candlepool player piping up over him about how much they hate City and Sterling.

Well I only said that because the poster reckons we'll struggle to sign young talent. That's clearly bollocks. W'e just signed Gomez remember and the kid that refused to sign a contract with Arsenal as well as others in recent times.

That's not true is it, any premier league team will be able to sign young talent, especially the top 5 or six teams (though Chelsea do seem to hoover up most of them, and never use them!) Just to reiterate, what might be perceived by the outside world about our club and fans, nobody is condoning whats gone on, but whos doing is this? not sure it can be pinned on us. 90% of city fans would love to have sterling, as he brings to the table, exactly what we have been missing imo, don't believe idiots that ring up talksport that pretend to be an MCFC mouthpiece. I believe our club handles itself with class and dignity, we don't stir the shit in press conferences, or roll out ex players to carry our character assassinations, just look at the milner situation, that's says everything about where we are now

How can you argue about something that hasn't been said you muppet. I asked for the quote because I couldn't remember what exactly Rodgers said. If I did't believe sed poster I would have said stop making up bollocks. However, I weren't sure what was specifically said so asked for it. Try not to make assumptions next time.

This is what you said.

Ex players jumped in when it started to get messy so don't kid yourselves into thinking this all happened before the bbc interview when it started to get out of hand. And Rodgers only mentioned that talks were ongoing and spoke highly of Sterling. Go and do your research. He never once criticized Sterling

Which is patently incorrect.

I hope you're/they're right pal wouldn't mind getting this done before tour!

haha ignored? I think you City fans memories only go as far back when it suits you. They were already leaks that Sterling felt undervalued. And to be honest I have no problem Rodgers letting the fans know that a player has been offered contract and we're not going to be held to ransom by the agent who is clearly driving this. Having said this the behaviour of ward and sterling is inexcusable. Stuff like "Even if Liverpool offered him 900k per week we still wouldn't accept it". Very classy! The way they have handled this is inexcusable. I mean fancy faking an illness and refusing to go on tour.
So his agent said he would turn down 900k a week to stay at Liverpool? Then maybe he isn't motivated by money and actually wants success

He wants to leave where he works, phones in sick for a couple of days and doesn't fancy going on a business trip.
What's the big deal?

You just don't do that kind of thing to Liverpool. They are such an institution, so special, so wonderful, that you just shouldn't.

Sterling and Ward have been a pair of prats (mostly Ward).

Liverpool have been duplicitous and vitriolic.

City have been cunning and sly.
