De Bruyne?

As long as we're still not fucking around come Sept 1st at 16.45, there's no rush for this to go through. Everton away looking the best bet for his debut.

If as suggested kdb has a family member who has some illness which he feels requires him to be near them and they are currently hospitalised, the best thing any club could do right know is show some decency and hold back on things with regard to this transfer, the last thing he would need is updating that city are all over him and require an answer etc.

@LoveCity asked his KDB source specifically whether these 'personal issues' were indeed an ill family member - as that's what we thought it could be. But he said it's nothing like that. He won't say what it is, and we have absolutely no idea what it could be tbh. However, it doesn't seem to be a sticking point for the transfer though, which is great news.

Couple more bits for you guys. Hecking has denied knowledge of a bid, that is from WAZ a local Wolfsburg paper. And De Bruyne's agent saying his trip to Belgium is 100% family reasons and not for negotiations, but I cannot confirm the validity of that quote

If all deals that were going to happen would already have happened by now - we'd never see a flurry of activity on deadline day. And yet, surprise surprise, we always do see it.

Having a deadline creates a reference point for brinksmanship as each club tries to use the countdown as leverage.

Sometimes you get a deal done early, and sometimes you end up doing the merry dance of to'ing and fro'ing to reach a deal.
